Original Review: I purchased this Laifen Hair Dryer via Amazon on December 23, 2022. It worked great for about 9 months, and then just stopped working for no particular reason. One day while using it normally (no more than 10-15 minutes a day) it suddenly let out a spark, and stopped working. Now it only blows out cold air, which is useless. I am very disappointed, because it had everything to be a great hairdryer, but it only lasted about 9 months, which is just no good. Powerful, fast drying, gentle on hair. However, I had to take a star off due to the air intake being located on the handle where the cord is attached. When you grip the dryer to avoid blocking the intake, you often bump and change the heat setting. Maybe that's the feature that is too sensitive.

UPDATE: Changing my review from 2 stars to 4. I was able to reach out to customer service from their website because my dryer was still under warranty. They were extremely helpful. I sent a video of the dryer not working having plugged it in, and without hesitation they sent me a new one. It arrived the following day. Works fantastic. Fingers crossed I just had a faulty one. I would give this 5 stars if the cord was at least 9ft. The current length is still too short for me. I hope they do come out with a longer cord one. I’d like to get a second one for my hair kit when I work. But it’s not ideal for working on other people’s hair with a short cord. Original: I bought this in October, super excited about it. Worked well when it worked. I only used it for 3 months before it just stopped working. We since moved and it’s been chaotic, so I’m just now getting around to reviewing this. The other downside to this dryer is how short the cable is. 6 feet sounds like enough, but it’s really not. Super bummed. Wanted to like this, but I should’ve just bought the Dyson. ... show more

This blow dryer only lasted 9 months. It no longer blows hot air. It cost me $200 and I have gotten the protection plan or returned it when I noticed some problems. So if you really want this blow dryer get yourself the protection plan. The blow dryer always did blow too hot on the highest setting and it would leave the diffuser attachment too hot to the touch I had to leave it on till it cooled. Also, I felt that the warm setting was not warm enough and this is the reason I would use the hot setting. I had a used Dyson before this one and lasted me 4 years so I am familiar with what the temperatures should be and how long they should last. I probably should have gone with a Dyson again. I bought this dryer for my naturally curly hair, looking specifically for one that helped reduce frizz and drying time. It succeeded my expectations, my curls came out amazing and it took me half the time as my previous basic dryer. It's super cool looking and fairly lightweight, definitely lighter than any other dryer I've owned. I love the location of the buttons, I don't accidentally change the settings or turn it off. I also love the color changes in relation to the cool/heat settings. BUT I am scratching my head at the comments about how quiet it is. It is not quiet. The noise it makes is actually more pleasant than a standard hair dryer and sounds super powerful, because it is, but I would hardly call this dryer quiet. I purchased this hair dryer back in May 2023. I use it once a week to blow dry my hair after showering, and I can assure you I only used it less than 15 times. It stopped working about 2 weeks ago, I reached out to Laifen’s customer service and they were able to send me a replacement. However, the new replacement unfortunately still did not work :(( Don’t get me wrong, I loved this hair dryer because you can change the heat level as well as the wind settings. Nevertheless, the quality wasn’t what I expected or perhaps it could’ve been the voltage at my home. I’m so sad that I can no longer use the product :( ... show more

Anyone with curly hair knows that drying your hair is time consuming... And if you use a bigger dryer with a long nozzle, the heavier it gets. I had been watching this one online for a while and it was getting good reviews. When Amazon had it on sale for less than the manufacturer website, I purchased it. Pro-- lite weight short nozzle dries/diffuses my wavy/curly hair very well Cons-- small diffuser REALLY short cord! a weird connecter box on the really short cord--I am guessing that is due to voltage requirements for countries Even though the diffuser is on the small side, the dryer does a really good job of drying my hair, and it is nice that it is not a heavy dryer. But that SHORT cord, and the weird box on the cord, it ends up stretched under my faucet while I am drying my hair. That cord should be at least 12-24 inches longer. Not sure why such an expensive dryer cuts that cost corner. Bottom line, would I purchase this again, YES. It is a good buy, and a much cheaper alternative than the Dyson, which I NEVER even considered based on the price. I will say that the first dryer I received had a defect. When it was turned off, it would not start again--it took several tries for it to come on and stay on. Either the motor was too hot and needed to cool down some, or there was a short in it. Either way, that was not a good thing for a pricy hair dryer. I contacted Amazon, and they shipped out a replacement, and the replacement works just like it is supposed to and turns off and right back on. ... show more
