I have only used this product one time so far, it was to use my ladder on a job on the front of the house, so the ladder was on a downward sloping lawn going from right to left. I have to say that using this product made the ladder way more secure than simply putting some wood under the ladder's regular legs to try and even it out. OK, I had been looking for a solution to use a stepladder safely in my backyard to trim fruit trees. Most of the ground around the trees is uneven and my stepladder would often fall to one side or the other. I am now 73 years old and can't handle those falls anymore. When searching for a solution I found this product. The biggest disappointment was that it was not designed for stepladders but rather for upright ladders. The mounts will not fit on the rear legs naturally out of the box. I was forced to do some engineering of my own. You can see in the pictures attached that I used a 1/8 inch aluminum plate for the rear legs. The stepladder now is about twice as heavy but I do believe the installation is very solid and should serve its purpose. Also, the bolts that come with the product are ridiculously long. They would even be too long for my fiberglass ladder. I just went to my local hardware store and bought some ¾" bolts plus some extra nuts and bolts for attaching the aluminum plate to the rear legs. All in all I'm pleased with how it looks and have confidence that should perform as advertised. I did test it on some steps in my backyard but will update this review when I test it on dirt later in the spring. As you can see from this test that first step is a doozy. I'll have to consider how I set the ladder up around my fruit trees or build a wooden box as a first step so I can mount the ladder safely. ... show more

Wish I had these years ago. Took the ladder to the hill side of the house with these installed, and was impressed. Much more stable than my ladder on flat ground.

    • Marginal Quality but cheap
Bolts are way too long and a bit flimsy. Knurled legs make if cheap to make but more difficult to use. Workable but not very good. I would look for a different brand next time.

    • Cannot be installed without additional parts from a hardware store
They do not provide any spaces like several other major brands. Due to this the frame of leg extender bows when installed causing them to be defective and not work. Literally its like 12 washers you need, what 50 cents more. garbage

    • Hard to adjust on the fly, you need to modify hardware for Werner ladder installs.
These do not adjust easily when shifting ladder, so not very helpful on jobs where the ladder is moving a lot. To install on a typical Werner extension ladder you will need to buy new hardware with a bunch of washers for spacing around the ladder's step mounts in it's frame. Way cheaper than the higher quality versions but you will pay in frustration and delays. ... show more
