in response to Andrea from the UK. if you are having intonation problems across many strings and they feel soft, it isn't a strings problem. your setup is not right. Most often when I see these problems with new strings, especially if the new strings are thicker, it is because the action is too high. if they feel soft across all frets, the nut might need to be filed to fit the strings better. if it is a problem on many frets but not the first, the truss rod might need adjusting. if it is only the frets nearer the bridge, (say from 5th or 7th down) then the bridge needs to be lowered. I saw one case where a neck was replaced by the owner, and there was enough sawdust in the joint that the neck didn't sit perfectly flat. had to take off the neck, sand both the neck and neckjoint in the body and reassemble. I also have had many guitars especially basses where the nut was only filed the minimum, little more than a scratch in the bone. in such cases, unless you really know what you are doing, have a pro setup your guitar. don;'t blame the best strings on the market. ... show more

These are great strings, and 1/2 the price of the competitors' sets for a Bass VI. I have actually visited them in Brooklyn, and they are fantastic people. I will always buy La Bella strings.

    • These are for Fender IV Six string baritone guitar .

When I bought these I didn’t realize they were for a Fender 6 baritone guitar . But they ended up being used for a piccolo bass . Great quality as usual from Labella , complete with those cool little dice string numbers.

They sound a little beefier than the stock bass 6 strings, but it's the way to go, just the right gauges to not be as floppy, but still keep that bass 6 thing.. I can play a little harder anyway, makes it a lot more usable. Love em.

Fixed the floppy strings that came from the factory on the Squier BassVI. It sounds like a Stingray. They're bright enough to still hear the windings with the tone rolled all the way off. Wild! Everything sounds like slap bass and slap bass is even rowdier!
