This is a fine conditioner, but I don't notice anything particularly special about how it works. I love that it's cruelty free, and thankfully there are a lot more options that are these days. I also like (a lot) the concept of reducing waste and helping the oceans, but come on now - they are selling this through Amazon that uses a lot of packaging to get it to you. So, I'm not sure how environmental it really is. What I do know is that it costs a lot more than other conditioners that are cruelty free and come in recyclable containers.

This L'ANZA T.R.U.E. Pure Conditioner, 8 fl oz is one of those conditioners that you feel like you should use a lot of, but trust me you don’t need to! The first time I tried this I used a normal amount If conditioner for me, which was about 12 pumps of this as not much comes out of the pump. My hair felt sufficiently coated, however it took me forever to rinse it out! It’s a really thick formula and seamed to not want to rinse out at all. So the second time I used this I cut down on how many pumps using just 5. I did not squeeze the water out of my hair like I normally do before using conditioner. Instead I left it really wet and then slowly worked the conditioner in that way, even adding a bit of water as I went. My hair didn’t feel like it was sufficiently covered or conditioned to me, but once I rinsed it out (which was much easier this time) then fired and styled my hair it actually was the perfect amount! It left my hair soft and healthy looking, without being weighted down. I will say it did not detangle my hair as much as I had hoped, but other than that it left my hair feeling soft and silky. This conditioner does have a decently strong scent, I like the scent but don’t love it. I have the powder shampoo companion to this conditioner, and It’s odd to me that they left the shampoo scentless but then added lots of fragrance to the conditioner. Overall though the pair works well as an every day shampoo and conditioner. I do find that I need to use a deep cleansing shampoo and then a treatment mask every 3-4 washes when using this. But that’s also normal for me so not an issue. Overall 4 stars once you figure out how to use it!

I'm undecided on what I think about the scent. It reminds me a tad of some kind of cologne rather than anything floral or sweet. It smells nice but I wasn't expecting that. I think it could be a little much for some. I have very long, medium thick hair. Washing my hair is a process that I do every other 1 or 2 days. I can't let it go for too long in between because it tends to get a little oily at the roots. I have a hard time finding a conditioner that leaves my hair volumized, soft, and that doesn't add too much moisture. There's like a fine balance since the ends of my hair are a little dryer. I use about 2 dime sized squirts only from the bottom half of my hair and it turns out looking great. It feels nicely nourished. For the heck of it, I tried it closer to my roots. I usually don't since that's where I get in trouble with conditioners for leaving my hair oily. But I didn't really notice that with this conditioner. It did give me a bit of volume. Having my hair as long as it is means that it's heavy from the bottom, so volumizing products are what I look for now. My hair doesn't feel as dry, which is great. So that means, not only did it help to moisturize, it also didn't leave excessive oil and I have an extra day to wash my hair - yay! Overall, I do like this conditioner. But the price at $40 feels a bit steep. Granted, I don't use a ton of conditioner as I do my shampoo, so this should last me quite a while.

I heard about this conditioner before and I had so much hope for it but it didn't work as I expected for me. It has very rich creamy texture but still I need to apply a lot to blends well on my wet hair. It makes my hair soft but doesn't have any effect on frizzy hair or smoothing out a lot.

This conditioner is very hydrating and feels a little thicker than the average conditioner in my opinion. I typically use heavy masks, but this conditioner impressed me. For reference, I have dry, coily hair. At first, I thought this conditioner was unscented, but I do notice a mild, powdery scent after this has been applied. My hair felt soft and manageable after I rinsed this out. I do think the price is a bit on the high side, but it is a very nice product.

It is very moisturizing. The conditioner itself felt creamy and it has a mild scent. It feels a bit pricey at $40 but a good solid conditioner.

This conditioner worked wonders for my oldest daughter's long thick hair. It softened and detangled. I have short fine hair and I think it was just a little to heavy for my hair because it softened it a little too much leaving it flat and volume not being possible to achieve.
