Let's begin with my dog is 14+ yo. These bowls are a bit softer than the typical ceramic feeding bowl and seem kinder to my dog's mouth/front teeth. If we put one of these next to her old feeding bowl with the same food, she chooses this bowl every time. They are also the perfect size to fit in our elevated feeding stand (she's a sheltie so on the smaller side). We keep one in the car for post-walk water- easy to store.
