  • Absolutely worth it for the price.
Size: Classic Color: Blue
I ordered this bass because it’s the cheapest full scale I could find on Amazon. And for the price, it’s unbeatable. At this price range really all anyone should care about it proper routing on the body and neck so it stays and plays in tune, and major functional defects. This bass is perfectly assembled out of the box, and the finish and hardware look great. For under $100, this is way more than anyone could ask for in today’s market. My only issue is the action being way too high out of the box. It’s still playable, but uncomfortable with the high action. Another huge plus, is this bass was perfectly intonated out of the box. I feel like this is a major win for beginners who don’t necessarily know how to set up an instrument. All in all, I bought this thing for my friends who play bass so they could jam with me on guitar when they come over. And it does this job perfectly. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good for the price
Size: Upgraded Color: Black
As far as quality for the price, this was surprising. Certainly would not be for a professional bassist, but I was extremely please with the build. Of note, I upgraded the strings with better quality, and spent some time oiling the finger board which really needed it, and tuned the string height. After that little bit of work a great instrument for part time or entry level musician. ... show more

  • Good value, but needed setup.
Size: Upgraded Color: Black
A good buy for a C note. 4 string Glarry bass with a 43 inch scale. 2 humbucker pickups. Solid instrument. Neck pickup DC resistance measures 13.46k ohms and the bridge pickup measures 13.82k ohms. So these babies are hot. When I first unboxed it, it was not in playable condition. They had the truss rod tightened up all the way during shipping, which put a severe back bow on the neck, making the lower registers fret out. It needed loosened. But it conveniently came with a hex driver to adjust it. You just have to remove the truss rod cover (3 screws) on the headstock to access the truss rod nut and then use the included hex driver to turn the truss rod nut counterclockwise to adjust the neck relief until the neck is straightened out and then give it another quarter to half turn to give it a slight forward bow. The fret ends were not dressed. They were sharp. So I also had to dress the fret ends myself. I also had to adjust the action and intonation. After it's set up properly this bass rocks. ... show more

  • Very playable after a little work
Size: Upgraded Color: Natural
I wanted to buy a bass just to have around but not spend hundreds of dollars since it's not my primary instrument. It's worth the money, IMO, but it needed some work to get it really playable. First off, replacing the strings is a must. I also polished the frets and oiled the fretboard. Neck was straight and no fret buzz. Action and intonation was last thing I adjusted. Pickups work fine and pots feel better than I expected. Output jack has a cheap feel but it works with no issues. Tuners do the job. The nut is plastic but again, wasn't expecting anything else at the price. The back of the neck has a rough feel so a light sanding and oil will be the last thing I do. It will easily serve it's purpose for me. ... show more

  • Surprise it’s a Glarry
Size: Upgraded Color: Natural
Ktaxon misleads you that you are buying one of their brands when in reality it is a Glarry. (See pictures) That beside, my initial thoughts upon opening and handling the “GLARRY” Bass guitar is that it feels decent but much much lighter than a good brand like Music Man. It wasn’t playable out of the box. Once it settled it had fret buzz and the strings are not good. I bought a set of DR Black Beauties and stripped the old strings while the strings were off I treated the fret board and neck with Guitar Honey. That gave it a very nice look and better feeling. I also graphene coated the body. After the new strings were stretched I made small adjustments to the truss, string height and pickup height. I also have a good cord. The bag and cord it comes with are not quality (I didn’t expect them to be). After these adjustments it plays AMAZING for a $79.99 Bass with the upgraded strings. The pickups are great for the price. I’m just a casual player that hasn’t played in many years. This “Glarry” Bass sounds almost equal to my Music Man and Washburn. Well worth the money once you get past the branding surprise. ... show more
