Finally bit the bullet and picked up a solid lock for my mountain bike. Fits around the front triangle on my mountain bike and easily reaches around to lock it to my 1up bike rack without having a lot of excess. However, it would not be long enough to go through the triangle, front wheel AND rack. While I'd still never leave my bike unattended for long periods (even with this), it does help when traveling and needing to stop at a rest stop with my bike on my car. Easy to lock/unlock (no hangups in the internal mechanism), and it's nice that it has a lock cover to prevent dirt and grime from getting into the lock. My son won a new bike, valued at $700. Was not about to take a chance on it getting stolen... I love this chain! Solid, heavy, a weight you can feel. No issues since we've bought it, and it's been tested. Out at shopping malls, plazas, schools, stores, etc. This kid bikes everywhere, and every time he goes out, he comes back with his bike.     • Heavy, but so much peace of mind
The chain is just thick enough to require heavy duty tools to cut, the links and sleeve make it difficult to hold in place for an angle grinder, and the length allows me to wrap several times or stretch to difficult racks if I need to. The lock itself requires very specialized skills to pick. Not something run-of-the-mill thieves will know what to do with. I actually purchased two of these to daisy chain together for a long 10ft lock to wrap around 6 bikes on my car rack or in my garage. I have so much peace-of-mind knowing they're reasonably safe no matter where I go. It's a really good feeling! It's true tho, that these locks are heavy. Like, surprisingly heavy—Jacob Marley heavy. Not something I want to carry around on my person. The only other complain I have is that the rubber cuffs at the end of the chain sometimes get in the way of locking when I pull the chain to stretch in situations where the lock barely fits. Usually tho, I can grab higher up on the chain and the cuff is fine. ... show more

Heavier than I expected but it makes me feel more secure knowing how heavy duty this lock is. I bought it for my Sur Ron but I feel confident enough to even use this on my motorcycle. I haven't used the lock much since I usually ride my ebike to the trails and cruise around then go back home. But if you're someone who commutes to work or to run errands and need to leave your bike unattended then this lock will make sure that it's still there when you're ready to leave. ... show more

    • Great length to wrap around trees, but HEAVY. Advise ebike use only.
Great ebike chain, and nice length to secure your bike to decently sized trees and other infrastructure. Only downside is that the chain cover is held in place with flimsy velcro on something like a near 15 lb chain. To make it perfect, I had to hand stitch the cover around the final links. I still have my bike so I guess it works, I would not advise this on anything but an ebike due to the volume and weight. ... show more

Father’s Day gift was a new pedal assist bicycle. I figured that I should invest in a good lock for it. This thing is great but so heavy (just under 10 pounds) that I’ll probably use it only when the bike is stored in my shed with the chain bolted to the shed. I use it on a Puch Maxi. There isn't a great way to lock up this sort of bike, so it'd be way easier for someone to take apart the bike and steal most of it rather than cut the lock, but for the use of a deterrent, this works well. It's a good solid lock that I'd trust my normal bike with. I tried the heavier New York version of this chain, but it was wayyy too heavy for my moped. This is a happy medium. ... show more
