I bought the 12 pack. Wanted to get a basic coating on the ceiling of my cabin's Gambrel (like a barn) roof. Cabin is 10' by 24' and the roof is about 374 square feet. I was only going for one coating, and it almost did it. I probably need two more cans to finish the coverage. Gambrel roofs are slanted, so the ceiling nozzle worked for me. Couldn't have done it with the nozzle made for walls. I was careful to not let the cans freeze while I had them, I kept them warm, and shook them all ahead of time, so that I could go from one can to the next quickly without needing to clean the nozzle until I'd used all the cans. It worked, but I had to prep everything carefully in advance so I could keep moving. Don't skimp on the preparation. Especially if you're doing a ceiling, it will be messy. Whatever's not covered will get stuff on it. I was dumb enough to not wear something over my hair, and had to use the solvent cleaner in my hair to get the stuff out. Also, even though the spray doesn't have a terrible smell, I was also foolish to not use the included mask over my mouth and nose. The stuff doesn't taste good or smell great when it's inhaled, and you will inhale it, especially for roof work. Glad I used old shoes, the cover suit and the gloves that were included. The stuff sprayed on well with no problems. It wasn't super easy to do it right, but easy enough for your basic weekend warrior. I sprayed the entire ceiling down with water in a spray bottle in advanced, as recommeded. Only one small section of the ceiling peeled away after spraying, like a 2' by 9" section. Everything worked as noted in the Youtube videos I watched. It will make a difference in keeping my little cabin warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, and was worth the money, even for just one coating. I'm hoping it will also seal out some of the bugs that make their way in every summer. Pretty happy with the overall effect. Not cheap, but much cheaper than other options. Would buy again, and will probably buy two more cans to finish up a couple areas. The spray gun and the cleaner that comes with it is good quality. Be sure to clean up the gun afterwards, it could last for a long time.

I am currently remodeling a 1914 colonial home in Highland Park Michigan. I’m using Styrofoam to take care of gaps around windows and hard to reach areas. I have used “the Great Stuff” in cans well as their pro series, which requires a gun. Both the regular and pro-series ‘Great Stuff” kept falling to the bottom, even though I sprayed water on the surfaces such before using the styrofoam. I have also used Dap products and they suffer from the same issue, a thinnish bead comes out but has a hard time sticking to the wood. I then tried Kraken and I immediately noticed the difference. With Kraken, a nice, thick, almost egg-white texture came out and it stuck to itself and the wood, making this not only easy to use, but it is also less wasteful. I will continue to use the Kraken fastcoat until my remodel is over, but overall I can tell you that I am delighted with this product, and I would certainly recommend it and buy it again.

EDIT: This company has the worst customer service out there. The first box of 12 that I used worked without a problem. Of the remaining 36 cans, I sent back 33 because they were rock solid out of the box. I contacted the company and they requested that I send them back to them to be checked before they would send me out replacements. I sent them at the end of October. Once a few weeks passed with no response, I messaged them again and they said they would look into the order. Now it is mid December and they have yet to send a replacement and as of this time have stopped responding to messages. I am currently out almost $600 by my math. I would advise anyone that uses this product to check it on arrival. If you shake the can and cannot hear and feel the product moving inside the can, you need to get them to replace it. Beats the crap out of Great Stuff. I went through four cans of great stuff to cover three sections (16”X8’ each, left) of a wall, while just two cans of this covered two sections (16”x8’ each, right) with better coverage. This stuff also sprays so much easier and each can comes with two replacement tips and gloves. Overall this is exactly what I needed. I’m no professional, so it’s not pretty but it does the job sealing up an old building I’m using for a shop.

The product was a lot easier to use than I thought and I worried for nothing. Follow the instructiond and spraying some water mist makes a difference, especially on ceilings! I used about 10 cans in the walls and ceiling for a walk-in shower conversion project filling 2x4 cavities in an old house. I used a respirator as the space was pretty small and the odor was strong. There is a learning curve to getting the distance, angle and speed correct. Don't go back over wet foam or spray it too think as it will slip down and give you a wavy look. Take it slow and give it time between layers. The foam cleaner spray works great. I used it every 3 cans, but I don't think it was totally necessary. The spray gun cleaned up like new. There was a little overspray and splatter here and ther, but I had put down a plastic sheet so cleanup was minimal. I would use this to do a whole house as I think the 2 part kits would be cheaper, but this is great for the types of projects where you spray a little today and a little tomorrow. If you are debating, give it a try - it isn't that hard to get a good results after a few practice runs.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this kit worked out. I am a semi-retired builder working on a small addition/remodel. Like anything else you try for the first time, it takes a little practice to get where you're applying it pretty evenly. I wanted 2" in the wall cavities, so by the time I was done with the 2nd coat, it didn't look too bad. I had about 300 bd. ft. to cover @ 2", so yeah, they might be a little optimistic on their coverage claims, but this stuff hardly goes on nice and flat, so make sure you allow for a little extra when figuring what you need. With the 18 can kit, you get 2 cans of foam cleaner, and I hardly even used any of the first can. The gun sprays clean in seconds, and spraying a little cleaner on a paper towel worked quickly to wipe off any foam on the outside surface of the gun. There was not a lot of odor or fumes with the product, which was nice, as this was on a remodel in an enclosed space.. Any overspray on the studs, etc. was easily peeled off with a 3" scraper at the end of the day. The fact that this foam is fire rated is an extra bonus. I would highly recommend this product.

The PPE they provide is pretty decent and the spray foam works when you're able to dial it in and get pressure right. However, 3 of the 12 cans I received were bad. They all came from the same box and extruded a dark gooey substance instead of spraying. It looks like they cured in the bottle and I am having a hard time getting a replacement for these cans.

I used this product to insulate the walls of a walkout crawl space under my cabin. The walls were metal with no current insulation. I had a quote of $8,000. I purchased two boxes of Kraken insulation and had more than enough. I even put it on twice to double the R value. I ended up selling the second box. Follow the directions and you will have no problems. I only had the tip get plugged a couple times. Once I changed the tip, once I took the insulation can off and ran the cleaner through the tip, easy fix. BTW, I bought extra tip and did not come close to needing them. They give you protective goggles, gloves and a suit. The suit is fine, but get better gloves. Also I got a full face mask with air filters. Never fogged up once. Tip: if you get the insulation on something, DO NOT TRY TO WIPE IT WITH A RAG. It will smear and never come off. Let it harden then chip it off. You can use acetone, which is what their cleaner is, to remove it as well.
