  • Compact and effective!
Color: Blue
I bought this sewing machine set for my mother because she has always loved crafting, and I wanted her to have something that was both easy to use and inspiring. She’s not a professional sewer by any means—most of her experience comes from mending clothes for the family or making little patchwork projects for fun—but this kit gave her the perfect way to dive into more creative work without feeling overwhelmed. What stood out to me right away was how approachable it was for her. The machine itself is compact and not intimidating, which was important since she tends to shy away from big, complicated machines. The finger guard and slower stitching speed really gave her the confidence to try it out without worrying about making mistakes or hurting herself. Within the first afternoon, she was already sewing small pieces of fabric together, smiling like a child discovering a new toy. It was so heartwarming to watch. The included fabric bundles were a huge hit. My mother loved flipping through all the different patterns and colors, deciding what to pair together. It reminded her of quilting bees she used to hear about from her own mother, and I could tell it sparked that same creative energy. She immediately began planning little projects like a pillow cover and some handmade napkins. What I appreciated most is that the fabrics were ready to use—no hunting around for starter material, which made it perfect for her. Another wonderful feature was the set of tutorial videos. Since she doesn’t like reading long instruction booklets, being able to watch step-by-step demonstrations online made all the difference. She actually learned how to thread the machine and change the bobbin on her own, which gave her such a sense of independence. Every time she finishes watching a video, she has another idea of something new she can make. The tool kit that came with the set really rounded out the experience. My mother didn’t have to search for scissors, needles, or thread—it was all included and neatly organized. That meant she could sit down and start right away, which kept her excitement alive. I noticed that the little details, like the needle threader and the thimble, made her feel like she had a proper sewing setup, not just a toy. Overall, this has been one of the best gifts I’ve given her. She feels productive, creative, and more confident each time she uses it. For anyone who is just beginning to sew, or for someone who wants to reignite their love for crafting, I can wholeheartedly recommend this kit. It’s safe, thoughtful, and full of everything you need to start creating right out of the box. ... show more

  • So glad I took a chance on this little guy!
Color: White
Okay, I’ll be honest - I was super skeptical about ordering this mini sewing machine because I’d heard mixed things about them online. But wow, it’s actually been perfect for what I needed! I mainly use it for quick hemming jobs and fixing loose buttons, and it handles those tasks like a champ. The best part is I can literally carry it anywhere - I’ve already taken it to my mom’s house to help with some curtain alterations. Setup was way easier than I expected, and all the little accessories that come with it are actually useful (not just random junk). Sure, it’s not gonna replace a heavy-duty machine if you’re doing serious quilting or anything, but for everyday fixes and small projects, it’s been a total lifesaver. Honestly can’t believe how much I’ve been using this thing. ... show more

  • Nice beginner machine easy to use
Color: White
Very lightweight and easy to use. It’s a cute little machine works well. I didn’t read the description and it was smaller tan I thought it was going to be but it got the job done. I needed it fast and it came the next day.

  • Broken within minutes of usage
Color: White
I open the box super excited to use it the same day that arrived, functioned well to try the first square after that: The pedal is not working, suddenly the buttons start switching functions (light buttons was sewing, speed button was turning on and off the light). It sounds as something is broken inside, and it gets stuck (not sewing) a lot of times, I was just giving it a try to see if I can use it with the clothes I was looking to fix but the machine is really poorly made. ... show more

  • Solid Product!
Color: White
I have this great set of flannel sheets. They have been washed so many times that the tags are not readable. They are soooo comforta ... gah! The seams have broken at all of the corners! The thread appears to have come undone on two of the corners, and the other two just ripped at the seam ... about three inches along the corner. Otherwise, they are in great shape. I wonder if they is an inexpensive way to fix these well loved sheets. Do it yourself. And that's always the answer. I looked at sewing machines, but they are pretty pricey for a decent one. They are also bloated with features to the point where I can't really work it without taking a class on it, and my college days have passed me. Some machines I needed to major in Sewing to use. So, I stumble upon this mini KPCB upgraded sewing machine. I read the reviews, and they are quite impressive. I have a look at the pictures, and I think ... wait, it's plastic! And it looks small, like a kid's toy. And it's plastic. It's too inexpensive to work like a real machine. It's still plastic. I re-read the reviews. Well, kids can use it, but it's not a toy. It's simple to use, great for repairing things. It's reasonably well constructed. There are video instructions on how to use it (not very long, 8 to 10 minutes or so, I checked). The support people are great. Amazon has a great return policy, so ... It arrived, and I re-watched the videos. Too simple, but knowing me, I'll have some issues. Let me run a few tests and make sure all of the buttons work. They do. Let me go ahead and remove the cloth like in the video and re-stitch it. I do, and it's fine. I make a note to leave lots of thread when removing the sewn item ... I need to tie both ends near the cloth, double knot. Also, the machine itself needs at least about 10 inches to start (so that I can tie a knot in the thread where its starts sewing, and also the machine needs a lead piece as the video instructed). Great, no problem. I would like to use the foot pedal, but I'm too clunky with my feet. It's hard to work that way for me. Not everyone, just me. Wait... if I put the "foot" pedal under my right arm, about half way between hand and elbow, I can control the machine AND guide the cloth. That worked out great! So, I grab the fitted sheet that needs repair. I overlay the two pieces of cloth and put a pin or two in them to keep the edges together, nice and straight. I raise the sewing machine foot, line up the edge, and put in the cloth. I clamp down the sewing machine foot, and I turn the knob on the right side, following the arrows, to make a few stitches first (as the instructions recommend). I turn on the light, set the machine to low speed, hold the cloth to feed it, and .... engage foot pedal! It sews at a speed that I can keep pace with. It went all the way through, no problems. It all lined up very nicely. I followed the instructions to find the sweet spot so that the thread will pull without resistance and the cloth slides right out. On the upper thread I took it out of the tensioner and used my finger to hold it. It pulled much easier that way, and I stuck it back when I had enough. Pull out plenty as this will need tying on the cloth side, and it becomes the lead thread for sewing the next item. Well, it came out perfectly on both sides. Not too shabby. Better than expected, actually. Much better. I did another one as re-enforcement, and then I tied all the thread ends up near the cloth. I did all four corners this way. I guess I was thinking there would be more to it. The machine worked quite well, and it seemed well constructed ... even if it is plastic. The support people answered a question I had, and were very prompt and polite. I could see kids using this with supervision at a reasonable age. Huh, just like advertised and reviewed. How often does THAT happen? Side Note: Technically, I could have sew everything by hand without even turning the sewing machine on (just by manually turning the right knob). Good to know if you're camping and have no power. It does sew without power. ... show more
