We live in a rental with an older toilet and the bloody flappy thingie was deteriorating....water was running non stop in the tank. We called the landlord a bajillion times which netted a lot of promises and no fix-kind of like long distance boyfriends LMAO. I finally just had my oldest son measure the bloody flappy thingie and looked it up on Amazon...where I found this. I can say with complete confidence and sincerity that his flappy thingie works perfect, is compatible with my older toilet, seals just fine, the tank now fills and then goes silent, and was a snap to put in. Such an easy fix. Worth every penny and solved the near six months of aggravation of waiting for a landlord to fix it. Excellent! Worked perfectly! Extremely easy to install. I had a 'temperamental' flapper in a bathroom that I had developed a routine to get it to close properly. I would hold down the lever until the toilet tank was half-empty and release it so the remaining weight of the water in the tank would cause it to seal properly. Always ran the risk of it not sealing and the toilet continuing to fill and running up my water bill. I got this and replaced it in about 45 seconds and it works PERFECTLY!
