Description

The Kolpin UTV Gun Mount is designed to mount to the floor of your UTV, truck or similar vehicle, or in the bed of your UTV for easy access to your firearms. It provides a secure and safe fit for your firearm, preventing vibration and movement over tough terrain. Firearms can be placed facing either direction for access from the driver or passenger side. A full 360-degree directional orientation provides easy access no matter what the application. The Kolpin Gun Rack mount is fully adjustable, angling up to 45 degree in either direction.

    • Mounted in my ancient golf cart...
Required a homemade bracket to keep it steady. Bracket goes from this rack to dash. Otherwise, flops around enough to be troublesome. Holds shotgun OK, but I will probably change out upper retainer for another Kolpin bracket for firmer grip. May take some engineering...

I had installed the 2 gun rifle mount that attaches the the overhead roll bar, but for rifles with large scopes and bipods mounted on them, this unit didn't work very well. I installed this Koplin unit to the floor in the center. To add stability, I added a piece of aluminum to the underside of the floor and also on top of the floor and mounted the unit. Getting rifles in/out of SXS is so much easier now. ... show more

Easily installed the mount in a Jeep Wrangler behind the front seats. It folds forward between the seats allowing easy access to the guns by both the passanger and driver. It is sturdy, well built and holds the guns firmly. If the gun has a large capacity magazine or a large scope, you may need to turn the guns up or down to fit in the mount. Replace the nut connecting the vertical arm to the mount with a wing nut for quick removal. Good buy and value. I spent a few extra bucks to replace the mounting hardware with stainless for the Florida salt air. I also turned both gun mounts in the same direction which is different from the product picture. ... show more

    • Quite a bit of wobble
I have a 2013 Ranger 800 and I mounted the rack per the specs. It was relatively easy to mount after removing the flooring, drilling, and installing 2 bolts/nuts before inserting the bolts and reaching around under the seat to attach the 2 remaining nuts. You do not want to drill blind in this area or remove the metal pan in the bottom. Total time- about 1.5 hours. I then mounted 2 guns - one light and one heavy - and found out quickly that they banged around side to side and back and forth quite a bit. It was apparent that the plastic flooring that came standard with the Ranger did not provide enough support for the loaded rack. I then called the manufacture and asked if their was a optional piece they sold to attach the column to the dash to keep it secure. The gentleman in CS was very nice but said there was nothing they could do on their end, and that a metal floor would be better. I do not recall seeing that as an advisable piece of information anywhere before the purchase. I decided to keep the rack after coming up with an idea to make it more secure. I took a rubber cup holder sold at auto part stores and used it as a buffer to the dash and then attached strong wire/line on each side of the column and screwed each wire into the dash (screws were already there). It looks a little odd - and homemade - but so far it is working. Not sure how long the cup holder will last. Kolpin should design a molded rubber bracket about 6-8" deep with guide lines to provide additional support with those that do not have metal flooring. ... show more
