  • I like it, don't love it
I like it, don't love it. this , little gem is only as sturdy as your mounting floor... which apparently is not mine.. I have the Honda pioneer 1000 and it has a plastic floor.. so the unit was flexing as far as the floor would let it. so I had to use a brace from the gun rack to the dash... it is sturdy now but the manufacturer should know, that every floor on a side by side are plastic and this little piece of heaven, will flex and needs a second arm to control the flex.. ... show more

  • Must reinforce floor attachment
I mounted it in a 2018 polaris ranger xp900. Take the floor hump out and reinforce it from the underside with a plate (I used a piece of aluminum). Yhere are only 4 plastics push rivets that hold the hump to the floor.

  • Works great but needs additional support
Mounted in my Honda Pioneer 1000. Fairly easy install but due to the fact that the floor is plastic the mount is unsteady. This can be resolved by bending a short piece of metal to act as a support from the mount to the dash. I actually used one of the arms from an old flatscreen tv mount. Cut it to length, bent it and attached using self tapping screws. Works perfect. ... show more

  • Quite a bit of wobble
I have a 2013 Ranger 800 and I mounted the rack per the specs. It was relatively easy to mount after removing the flooring, drilling, and installing 2 bolts/nuts before inserting the bolts and reaching around under the seat to attach the 2 remaining nuts. You do not want to drill blind in this area or remove the metal pan in the bottom. Total time- about 1.5 hours. I then mounted 2 guns - one light and one heavy - and found out quickly that they banged around side to side and back and forth quite a bit. It was apparent that the plastic flooring that came standard with the Ranger did not provide enough support for the loaded rack. I then called the manufacture and asked if their was a optional piece they sold to attach the column to the dash to keep it secure. The gentleman in CS was very nice but said there was nothing they could do on their end, and that a metal floor would be better. I do not recall seeing that as an advisable piece of information anywhere before the purchase. I decided to keep the rack after coming up with an idea to make it more secure. I took a rubber cup holder sold at auto part stores and used it as a buffer to the dash and then attached strong wire/line on each side of the column and screwed each wire into the dash (screws were already there). It looks a little odd - and homemade - but so far it is working. Not sure how long the cup holder will last. Kolpin should design a molded rubber bracket about 6-8" deep with guide lines to provide additional support with those that do not have metal flooring. ... show more

  • Like the placement, but flimsy and instructions are terrible
At this time it is working, but I have had to make a few personal modification, not major. It holds my guns like it states, but a little flimsy. Installation instructions as well as assembly instructions are awful. It does require some drilling, which I was under the impression would not be required. It is getting the job done, but I don’t have a lot of confidence. ... show more

  • Works ok on Polaris Ranger when reinforced a bit
I installed this on my 2018 Ranger 900 EPS and I found that it needed some reinforcement underneath the plastic floor piece you would mount it to in the middle of the cab. I fashioned some out of sheet metal to give it some rigidity and put the sheet metal on the opposing side of the plastic floor piece sandwiching the plastic between the gun racks bottom and the metal sheet. Also longer shotguns take some care in loading and unloading into the rack as this sits a bit high. If you're not careful it's easy to hit the roof with your gun barrel. shorter rifles or shorter barreled shotguns aren't as much of an issue. ... show more
