Heavy steel will not rust out any time soon like the cauldron I had previously used from a big box retailer. It’s big and sturdy, contains the fire well and it looks cool in my back yard. My grandkids love it too!

Well made unit at the price.

The bowl is as solid as stated. Was please with our first fire and its performance. Good size, holds a solid sized fire. Probably the weak link is the support ring. It's thinner steel, and secures to the main bowl on a ring with 4 bolts. My last fire pit died mostly due to the bolt connections, which were thin, rusted through, and broke off. We think this will do much better as ring is thicker, but there is a chance the bowl outlasts the ring. We will see how well it really hold up, though I expect it to last a lot longer than a thin gauge bowl would. The bowl was not damaged, but thr box was trash by the time it go to my door. I think they might benefit in shipping with some internal centering materials that would keep it from moving around. But it is pretty heavy, so might be a tough packaging design. Ordering one then does come with some risk of shipping damage, and that means you may have some chance to wait for a second one. Only brought up because it is much more likely to see damage for this than if you were buying like some deoderant.

Awesome quality firepit. Totally worth the money, and very sizeable as well. Basic, simple, and solid thick steel that won't rust away like it should be; 44 pounds of solid steel will test time.

Box showed up pretty much destroyed and retaped closed again, but missing the hardware to put it together ! I had to buy bolts...

Beautiful fire pit—and an incredible propane conversion base

I absolutely love this fire pit!!! The bowl itself is beautifully made with a clean, modern yet earthy design that fits perfectly in my natural landscape. Even before converting it, it looked fantastic, but I wanted the convenience and safety of propane without giving up the look of a real fire pit (I live in a very windy and dry area with frequent fire bans). After a lot of research, I realized I couldn’t find a pre-made propane fire pit with this same aesthetic and affordability l, so I converted this one myself—and I’m so glad I took that chance. (Some basic component info is below) The hardest part wasn’t the actual build—it was simply figuring out which propane components were compatible with each other. Once I had the right parts, the conversion itself was surprisingly easy. The flames aren’t quite as tall as some burner advertisements show, but I believe that’s more a function of propane pressure, regulator setup, and natural gas vs. propane differences than the fire pit itself. Either way, it throws a beautiful flame that’s more than enough for ambiance and a cozy evening outside. Highly recommend! DIY Propane Conversion (very short version): I built a removable insert using all items you can get on Amazon: * Stainless burner ring with higher BTU (Stanbroil) * Air mixer (Venturi valve) (Stanbroil) * High-capacity propane 2 stage regulator with 10’ hose so tank can be further away (GasAf) * Black lava rock (1-2in pebble style, about five 20lb bags) * Hardware cloth + rebar support to lift burner higher in bowl (used way less rock this way!) * Brass adapter to propane line (1/2” female straight to 3/8” male flare) * Gas-rated thread seal tape Drill a single hole in center of fire pit for the gas line, run it under the base in a way that the line doesn’t get pinched. Connect with a propane tank. Keep the original air vents open for ventilation, leak-test every gas connection with soapy water before lighting, and you’re done. Light with a long neck lighter. I am not a professional diy type person but hope this helps someone else get started that wants to covert to propane too:)

The for pit works well for burning wood but quickly rusts

The size and shape of the fire pit are wonderful. Unfortunately, the copper color quickly turned to rust. Not great for the outside. This bowl does have venting at the bottoms which allows the wood to burn well. I just wish the bowl was copper and not rust. Copper should patina to a greenish color.
