  • The Bold, Practical Joke of Kohler
Color: White Size: Elongated Pattern Name: Toilet Seat
This isn't my first bidet rodeo. Like many others, I came across their practicality during 'the great toilet paper shortage of 2020'. I stumbled upon a Coco brand bidet at a truck stop in Iowa (of all places), that felt so incredible, I felt like I had to start going back to church on Sundays to atone for my sin. Nonetheless, it was everything a bathroom experience should be: efficient, comfortable and, most importantly, much more sanitary than a non-bidet experience. It gets you cleaner and your hands never come near your bottom. A few months later, I purchased an electronic Lotus Bidet. It had everything I might want from a bidet: heated seat, heated water, adjustable heat settings, adjustable pressure, adjustable nozzle position and a dryer. I think any modern electric bidet is certain to give you the same, excellent experience, though (from what I've read) all bidet dryers are still stuck in the pre-dyson type hand drying days. Remember when you'd push the button, put your hands under the dryer for awhile, then wipe them on your pants? That's where bidet dryers are. I had my Lotus for 2 years. During that time, I visited a spot in Europe with a ceramic 'sink' type bidet. It felt like washing your bottom in a sink. I mean, it was still more sanitary than just toilet paper alone, but it had nothing on the electric bidet. I was happy to return home. Life was great and then, I moved. Unfortunately, my awesome new place didn't have an outlet anywhere near the toilet or in a position where an electric cord was feasible. I figured I could easily transition back to a regular, non-bidet life. Turns out, the non-bidet world just isn't as sanitary and I immediately noticed the difference. I considered suffering it (is that suffering, or am I victim of first world problems?), but eventually decided to try a non-electric bidet. I wasn't too concerned with losing the dryer, since they don't work that great to begin with. I could easily live without the heated seat (I'm not royalty), but I was concerned for the loss of warm water. My concern was reasonable since a cold water bidet is sort of like drinking orange juice after brushing your teeth... but on your bottom. It's... 'intense', but not a deal-breaker. It definitely gets your bottom cleaner than toilet paper alone. So, what about the practical joke from my headline? The Kohler bidet is looks great, and feels great to sit on. It mostly easy to install, except for one thing: connecting the hose to the seat. There's a small filter that does everything to keep you from making a tight connection between the seat and T-Joint. I thought mine was pretty tight when I installed mine, until I went to the other room and heard what sounded like a burst pipe. I knew exactly what it was. I immediately shut off the gushing water and saw the connection had popped off: it seemed tight, but never actually was. Joke is on me. I fought with the connection for awhile (and I mean 'fought'), until I realized I wouldn't get a good connection unless I just took out the filter. I'm sure the filter would do well to keep out calcium, but for tonight, I'm leaving it off. I'd rather be the victim of one practical joke rather than two. Outside of that issue, it's a really great seat, though I can't lie: warm water would be nice. ... show more

  • Works better than I expected.
Color: Biscuit Size: Elongated Pattern Name: Toilet Seat
I wanted to try a bidet toilet seat, and I trust Kohler. My wife and I were very happy with the functionality of this seat. The bidet spray does a very good job at cleaning, and the up and down control of the handle ensures you hit the right spot. After 3 months usage, there is no leaking anywhere. One minor hiccup: I could not couple the water hose to the seat using their filter. Couldn’t reach the threads. Not using the filter does not seem to affect anything I can discern. We are happy we bought this product. We are thoroughly spoiled now, and we need to buy a portable bidet for travel! ... show more

  • First time Bidet Users, Read This!!
Color: White Size: Round Pattern Name: Toilet Seat
If you are thinking of buying a bidet for the first time and you are wondering if its worth it, or if its better that whatever your doing now.... The answer is YES, you should buy a bidet. I am saying that as a very new first time owner myself having used this product for about two months. Being my first and only bidet, Its hard to compare this against other bidets. But I will say that my overall experience, the cost, ease of install and how well it works should earn this seat a solid 4 stars. Definitely a good purchase and I'm very happy with the results. I will by more the the rest of my bathrooms. Install: All the parts that come with the bidet are good quality, and the plumbing fasteners are all metal. If you have ever set a toilet or have done any work on a toilet before, then this will be super easy! If you have never worked on a toilet, don't worry, its still pretty easy and you find there are plenty of online videos to walk you through it. Keep in mind not all toilets are installed the same and I suppose there is a chance you might need to hit up a hardware store to get a part. But this was not the case for me. Once installed, It blew my mind how good it looked. At least on my toilet it looks perfect. Seriously it looks like it came with the toilet. Just be careful to get the correct "Round or Elongated" option and color. How does it work?.... I'm never going back!!! I got so sick and tired of wiping and wiping and wiping for mediocre results or just to have an itchy bum later in the day. Goodbye to that forever! I will always have a bidet for the rest of my life. My bum is so happy and healthy!! Q&A: -Does it get you completely clean? Yes it does, but you have to do it right. I learned that you need to move around. Make sure the beam of water hits all the right spots. I also give the back door a few good flexes open and closed while the beam of water is right there. "I'm sorry, that's the nicest way I could word that" -Did you stop using toilet paper? No. I still use TP to dry off and to make sure the bidet got everything completely clean. I do however us soooo much less TP that before. -Is a warm water bidet worth it? No. Cold water is great, not a shock at all. Even if you get a hot water bidet you will still get the initial cold water burst. If you get one that keeps water warm at the seat, then you are wasting money and energy 24 hours a day for about 10 seconds of warm water. Besides that area is always so hot, it could use a cool down from time to time. Here is some helpful T.M.I. I have to say that my first time, I was kind of expecting the stream to shoot across/over the top of my back door at an angle. NOPE, it fires a brisk straight shot into the keyhole!! But after a few uses you will realize that this is better and it was designed that way. just a friendly warning for first timers. This is a great purchase, make your bum happy. ... show more
