I'm glad this was available being it is now discontinued by Kohler. This is a real Kohler product. And is way cheaper than when I bought this very same one years ago. The wife removed it from the wall and parts were lost. That was why I purchased from Amazon.

This is a nice looking product that matches nicely to the faucet I have in my powder room. But I was disappointed that it was described as having a pivoting feature (which it did not have). I liked it enough to keep it anyway.

It's hard to find decently made anything anymore, and I didn't have the time to read 8000 reviews, so I just went with the Kohler branded option. The nice things about this: 1) Actual metal used, including for the little spring bar that the roll sits on (although admittedly the spring bar itself is very light gauge) 2) Thoughtful use of wide bases to hide any damage done by the screws that hold this to the wall (in my case, I used better wall mounting hardware behind it, and the result is that the plaster and paint "curdled" a bit, but this was easily hidden behind the extra wide decorative bases) 3) Relatively intelligent modular design (not that this matters to the buyer) - but since I have several items from this collection, I can see how the manufacturing works and how they combine various basic pieces to make these things, and there is some nice design in there 4) Intelligent base cover tighteners - designed to go on in only one way, and tightening in such a way that they easily go flush to the wall. Again, none of this is rocket science, and these are over-priced (you're paying for the Kohler brand and the knowledge that you won't throw it away in disgust when you receive it). First off, I already had this same model holder, towel bar, fixtures...the works. I had a brilliant idea. My wife and child typically leave me in an awkward situation by 1) never replacing the empty TP roll on the holder or the spare kept on an in-reach shelf (it's not that hard to replace, she's just lazy or hates me, possibly both) or 2) running off with the spare on the shelf (3 year old, everything is a toy). To combat this lack of decency I thought "why not take a cue from public restrooms and have a double roll holder?" So I got a second holder of the same make and model in our favorite Oil Rubbed Bronze! Excited at this novel bit of cleverness and the prospect of never having to awkwardly ask for a roll again, I grab my hand drill and screw driver and the new holder package and go to install it. I open the holder package...annnddd it's .... it's a different color and finish. Definitely hinting at the oil rubbed style but absolutely not a match for my restroom fixtures previously acquired. I suspect the manufacturer changed the formula for the finish on this product line at some point but as its not a proper match for what I already had it would only aggravate my OCD and that's a stress nobody needs. Returned disappointed. Replacing all the other fixture would appear to be my only option but that's not in the budget and would be to unreasonable just to have a second roll holder on the wall. ... show more

    • Nice look, poor design

First let me say that the holder looks very nice and matches everything else we bought in the Devonshire line. But it is bulkier than we expected. The rod is way longer than it needs to be and a roll of toilet paper excessively slides around on it. It can also jump over the stops at the ends. The rod itself is really thin and has a very cheap feel to it. After mounting the holder the first time, it was obvious that the rod was way too long, had little tension to it, and gave it even more of a cheap feel. I then moved one of the brackets in a 1/2" and it is better. I can still easily get the toilet paper roll off and just that little bit of extra tension made the rod feel better. I could have gone even shorter, but I don't want to over compress the spring. And by only moving it in 1/2" I could still hide my original holes. The look is 5 stars, but the design is only 3 at best. I generously gave it a 4 star total. Despite what we had originally assumed, nothing we purchased in the Devonshire line was actually made in Kohler, WI. It was all made in China. ... show more

We'd gotten SO frustrated with jumbo toilet paper rolls that would not work with the design of our old holders. When a new roll was put on, we'd have to unroll the first part of each new roll onto the empty cardboard from the preceding roll. Otherwise, we'd end up getting one sheet at a time because the new roll was too tight and the sheets would tear at the perforation. We bought two of the Kohler toilet paper holders YESTERDAY and they were delivered free TODAY. Within an hour, they were perfectly installed by my husband.
