Going to give my honest opinion and will update review after I've had the futon for a few months. I have been doing my research for MONTHS on futons before settling on this purchase. I was going to purchase a futon from a Amazon (different company though) for $225 more. The only difference was the other futon had attached side end tables and this does not. There was a few other very minute differences. But I figured for $200 less I'd give it a shot. Honestly I'm very happy with the purchase. A lot of these reviews were right good and bad. Here's a list of pros and cons. Pros Assembly wasn't terrible. 2 hours with my husband doing most the work and I just handed bolts and telling him where everything went. The instructions are really clear and everything is color coded, and they give you a YouTube tutorial link to go to if needed. We didn't have to use that. 1 person could put this together. I also recommend using the Allen wrench provided and not power tools. I know it'll take longer but you will also split this wood if you torque the screw down too hard! The mattress was the main reason I purchased this particular item and it paid off! It is sooooooo comfy! I have sat and laid on it but not slept with it down in the flat position yet. I have a bad back and I really like the firmness and comfort of this mattress. Sturdiness, I am pleasantly surprised by. Its a good sturdy frame. My husband and I both sat on it and watched a movie and I never felt unsecure sitting on it together. (We ain't small people either. šŸ˜†) The picture doesn't show and I was nervous they wouldn't be included BUT the back supports were included for when you lay the bed part down to sturdy the bed. I was very happy those were included. Shipping was STUPID fast. I got a notice Monday it was out for delivery. It arrived Tuesday by 3pm. 4 days earlier than expected. Shipping and returns (prime) was the biggest reason I finally decided on this bed. Because other places were making the customer pay for the shipping if something wasn't correct with the futon. Cons The mattress does have a strong chemical smell. It smelled "like" paint or some sort of weird chemical smell for about 4 days after putting it up. I mean it goes away. But it was slightly unpleasant. The bolt packaging is terrible. Its the hard plastic wrapping and the first 2 seconds of putting it together I thought I was missing bolts, but they had busted through the plastic and found in the box randomly. We spent about 10 minutes looking for them and 5 minutes in between trying to figure out what we were going to do about the "missing" bolts. That was annoying! There were a few wood inserts to cover the bolt holes there were in the instructions but nowhere in the packaging. The 2 bed support pieces that were included when the beds laid down for support were not included in the instruction manual. We just kind of figured that out ourselves. Overall it was ABSOLUTELY worth the purchase. Hopefully I feel the same in months and years to come. I'll update this review then! ... show more

Hello, I'm pretty sure this is my first review on Amazon but I will write this with as much information as possible and as accurate as possible. This is my experience this this product so far. Assembly Not sure what the other reviews were having issues with but this took around 45-50 mins to fully 100% assemble including the drawers for under it. This legitimately is one of the easier products I have assembled everything is color coded , Number and letter coded so there is no possible way to make a mistake. This is a 5/5 you could not do a better job making it easier. Comfort All in all this is a semi comfortable couch/bed main issue is the small tabs or plastic T's all over the side that is supposed to be up right these will catch your hands, feet and legs constantly I pulled my toe nail back while stretching out when I was watching some TV which was really unpleasant if these did not exist "LAYING DOWN" part of this would be a 4/5 at this time its a 2/5 Now to the Couch portion this does not feel like sitting on a couch recliner nothing its extremely awkward the cushion / bed slowly move forward ending up with almost 8 inches of the cushion hanging over making your feet stick straight out I am only 5'9 but this is the most uncomfortable thing I have ever sat on. Accessibility This is where I hate this product with a passion changing from Bed to couch is not an easy task by any means. Every time I switch from Bed to Couch this thing resists every attempt to return to the couch form and it seems like its going to break every single time. Here is how I attempt solo to put it back into couch form. Standing center to the back lifting the back half upwards doing this immediately lifts the futon back off the floor so I put my foot down on the back support and continue to pull up even doing this is does not want to go into position so I am unable to put this back without help so now my wife needs to take her foot and push in the center crease of the bed to push it into position with a good amount of force this causes this to make horrible slamming noises as this slams into position awkwardly . Then we have to jamb the bed into the crease to try and keep the bed into position. I have tried several ways to put this back into couch form but they seem worse and I have had no success without seeming like its going to break. Pretty simple to assemble, but does take awhile. One of our arm rests came damaged (I donā€™t think the boxes were handled that well). Paid extra for the storage drawers, however the picture is deceiving. They are not actual drawers, they sit on the floor. Pretty comfortable but I wouldnā€™t want to sleep on this for more than a couple of days (great for guest bedroom).
