The pictures were taken from 300 ft (I measured with rope & tape measure) First picture was taken with no zoom. Last picture was not the max zoom, about 75% After this range pictures start to blur.I took a video of these guys at about 50-60% zoom worked pretty good. A tripod was used for all pictures. I've gotten some decent pictures shooting freehand, but cannot go much past 50% zoom before blurring. I've used several different kinds of cameras throughout my life (lose or break them) This is a nice camera. Note on battery issues: I see many reviews for cameras & other items that use this type of battery complaining of battery issues. First, batteries must be fully charged before first use. They must be brought to full charge without interruption. 2nd, these type of batteries need to be used and recharged after 3-4 months, they will last longer with less problems. Last, turning camera on & off to conserve battery does not work. every time camera comes on or off the motor comes on, same with zooming. Try limiting motor use. I always carry 2 extra batteries ... show more

16MP photos with 42x optical zoom for less than $160! This camera is a terrific value for the options you get. I once had a Fuji camera that was comparable, but I paid way more than $160 for it. This camera is a beauty and will be in my possession for a long time. Perfect. Update: 12/8/2017. After having this camera for over a year, I still stand by my original statement in that it is a great camera. I have had problems however with indoor, low-lighting shots. For example, a children's Christmas singing pageant had pics and videos that came out very orange and blurry, no matter what setting I used (and I was using a tripod), and also in 'It's a Small World' at Disney. Hope that song isn't stuck in your head now. But the lighting in there is similar (low-light, moving animatronics), and all of the shots I took were blurry and useless. Was trying to get reaction shots of a three-year-old (my granddaughter), but none were usable. Outdoor pics and videos are ace! Long zoom photos are ace if you use a tripod and delayed shutter. I use the two second delay so the camera has time to stabilize after I've hit the shutter button. Indoor shots with low-lighting are a problem. Not sure how to overcome this. ... show more

I bought this because I wanted to do some bird photography, and clip-on zoom lenses with my smartphone weren't cutting it in terms of quality OR zoom level. I adore this camera. The zoom is POWERFUL and the macro function works well. The image stabilization is great -- zoom without image stabilization is kind of useless, so that's always an important thing in a camera. The batteries also seem to last a long time. It isn't the *perfect* camera, so be sure to read the description and make sure it's right for you before you buy. Zooming in on things closer than about 50 feet results in less than stellar image quality (compare the photos of the eagle and woodpecker, 55' and 40' away, vs. the chipmunk and sparrow, 10' and 25' away). Also note that it does not support certain memory cards. Although, honestly, I've used certain unsupported memory cards with it and they've worked fine -- but I've used other unsupported memory cards and they didn't work at all. So best to just use one of the cards that it supports. I also want to point out that the higher you go in terms of zoom number (the "32x" or whatever), the smaller a difference it makes. The difference between 1x and 2x is huge, but the difference between 49x and 50x is pretty small. So if you wanted to save some money by getting a 40x zoom instead of a 45x zoom or whatever, it probably wouldn't make that much of a difference. My only minor complaint is straps. I wasn't sure how to attach the camera strap so I just kind of tied it on there and I don't know if it's right -- also there's a little hook on the lens cap to attach a string and keep it from falling and getting lost when you turn the camera on, but there's no place on the camera to tie the other end of the string. But those are EXTREMELY minor issues, and well worth everything else. In short -- BUY THIS CAMERA, it's an amazing thing to get for under $100. ... show more

This is a great value for my usual point and shoot, spur of the moment use. I am used to using a viewfinder, and this camera does not have one. However, I am getting used to using the LCD, which is nice and large, to frame the pics and take the shots. I am pleasantly surprised by all the provided features, but have used only a few so far--esp. for distance and low-light or night shots. So far, so good. I could easily have given 5 stars for auto focus and picture quality, but as yet I haven't used the camera enough to provide a solid judgment. I recognize that some of the technology and features have been around for awhile, but I thought my take would benefit some newcomers to digital photography. ... show more

UPDATE: I just got the new battery and it fixed the issue! This is a very light camera that takes wonderful pics! But.... My biggest issue is that I just purchased this camera brand new, it got here Monday to only find out it only turns on when on the charger, no matter how long you charge it. I read the instructions over and over, after looking up more info about my problem it is apparently a common issue with this camera. I emailed KodakPixPro regarding my issue and they are sending me a new battery for free to try to fix that issue. I am pretty bummed about it overall though, I was such excited to take pics of my Furbabies but I have to hook it up to the charger to take any pics, it immediately turns off and doesn't turn back on once I take it off the charger. This little camera packs some serious power. I was shocked how well it works! The zoom is phenomenal. The auto focus sometimes takes a few seconds and will cause a fuzzy picture here and there. But it’s a very minor issue and does not happen frequently. I’m a beginner at this, I normally just use my phone/iPad to take pics. This camera is perfect for me to get into photography. Seriously I love it! Got some pics of the moon that I could NEVER get on my phone. For the price it’s a great value too. ... show more

    • Camera has serious issues!

DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA! I bought one last year. It lasted a few months and then quit while I was taking pictures at my nephews wedding. The camera had been connected with its charger cable all night. I was first sent a new battery and cable by customer service as it was still under warranty but this did not correct the problem. Then I was sent a replacement camera which again lasted a few months and then ceased to function. I removed the battery which is marked 3.7volts and checked it with a voltmeter which shows a 3.6 volt charge so I think camera should still function but it does not. The service center is going to send me a new camera, which will be the third one but I have little confidence it will last more than a couple months. Received the third camera and a new battery. It also will not charge the battery! So three cameras, a number of batteries and all I have is a hole in my wallet. I believe the camera has a serious design or manufacturing flaw which I believe Kodak views as acceptable as long as they can keep selling them. My Olympus lasted several years at half the price. It is now Feb. 2025 and the camera has ceased to function. One thing I learned is that with the camera connected to the PC via the USB connector, it says its charging but it was not. It would only charge when connected to a USB adapter plugged into the wall. Okay, easy enough to deal with but now there is nothing. After being plugged in to charge overnight it would not work. I connected to the wall again and found I could get it to work while connected but that has also stopped. There is obviously something wrong with the charging circuit/power connection which I would think to be very basic electronics and easily made to be reliable. Kodak is sending me a charged battery and cable to try but I am thinking this camera is morte. ... show more

Honestly - it’s a 2015 camera so i shouldn’t be surprised it’s not THE BEST ya know. Especially with how technology has upgraded so much since then. I got what I paid for- I wanted a professional camera without paying the high $500 + price tag. It’s not the worst camera by any means - it takes SOME nice photos and I think I need to play with it more(I’ll update my review if I charge my mind but I’ve already taken it out for day trips to the beach and stuff and it doesn’t do well with motion). HOWEVER as much as I hate to admit I wasted this much money- my iPhone 8 camera is better than this camera. If you have a newer phone- it takes a more clear photo than this. Zooming even just a little bit makes it blurry. 🙃 ... show more
