  • Powerful & Quiet
Great mower, well build, very quiet with plenty of power. The 6ah battery lasts a long time, plenty long enough to do my entire yard anyway (approx 7000sqft), with battery to spare. Storage is really slick, just pull the pin mechanism on each side fold and stand up on end right out of the way. If there are any disappointments; It doesn't like to mulch heavy grass that is the least bit damp, so you must use side discharge. It's best to stay on top of mowing, if mulching, don't let it go too long The thumb "self propel" switch could stand some improvement, it causes my thumbs to cramp after a while. I normally only use it uphill, as it's light and rolls nicely. Extra batteries are a bit expensive. I bought without battery, if I had to it over again I probably would have purchased this mower with one. Overall a capable, clean & green alternative to an ICE mower. I'm satisfied with my purchase. Hoping to get many years of use for the investment. ... show more

  • I was impressed with its ability to cut heavy grass!
Size: 6.0 ah Battery and Charger Included
I've had a Honda gas mower for many years. It's ran fine and always starts on the first or second pull. However...it gas powered, noisy and now that I have this mower...not that powerful. I let my grass grow for a month so it would get really long. The Honda mower with the exit shoot open would have stalled in the heavy grass 5 to 10 times. With this mower, shoot closed so it had to mulch everything on top of cutting month old heavy grass, had no problem. It did stall 3 times in the heaviest parts of the yard. I have to say I'm impressed! It's now 2 months old and still doing great. I was curious about what's inside that giant wart on top of the mower. It's mostly empty space. I guess Kobalt was concerned people would thing a plastic cover that was actually the size needed for the motor, controller and battery would make it look weak and under powered. The plastic shroud could be 50% smaller and still hold everything it needs to hold! I have two complaints and they are both for the Self-propelled feature: 1. The self propel system is never off. Push the paddle and the mower takes off instantly whether the mower is running or not. I want it to turn off when the mower turns off. I've accidentally bumped that paddle switch many times and the mower shoots off for a second and probably crashes into something. 2. The self propel system if used wont let you go backwards until you release the paddle switch and then roll forward a bit more. The back wheels stay engaged with the drive system and won't let go. If you are mowing up to a wall or post, you have to drag it backwards as it won't roll freely. I tend to NOT use it when I'm up close to something I could get jammed up against. For open areas, it works fine for that. ... show more

  • Great Electric lawnmower
Size: 6.0 ah Battery and Charger Included
I got to say, regrettably, the days of gasoline lawnmowers are setting like the late afternoon sun. These electric mowers are quieter, less maintenance, and all around easier to use. Specifically, small to midsize (<half an acre) yards are now ruled by lithium battery lawnmowers. The only exception is if you have a football field or bigger yard, then would I recommend the gas ones. ... show more

  • Wanted to love this, but too Messy. Back to gas.
Size: 6.0 ah Battery and Charger Included
Lots of things to love about battery but when it makes a mess it is not enough. Living in the a pacific NW It is hard to get dry grass opportunities that meet a work schedule so you have to plan to cut wet or damp grass and this Kobalt just doesn’t have enough umoh to pick up the clippings. It makes a mess with piles of clipping on the lawn, wheels and Anywhere you push it like the driveway and garage. Clumps of grass everywhere even if the grass is pretty dry. Dogs bring it in, have green paws and eat the grass patties. The technology just isn’t there yet. We have had it for a couple years and can’t stand it anymore so bought a gas mower at full price wo an electric start. We get good sun but not enough to dry it fully for this machine. Batteries and accessories work well. I need two batteries to do my <1/8 acre lawn. The trimmer battery being at the top is tiring but works well. We had problems with the charger so we really have to make sure it is seated right and charging properly. ... show more

  • It’s Electric!!! No gasoline fumes. No oil change!!
Size: 6.0 ah Battery and Charger Included
Although I didn’t purchase my Kobalt battery operated lawnmower through Amazon. I felt compelled to leave a comment on this amazing machine. I just love this lawnmower. My spouse has a lung disease and cannot be around any fumes. This mower is lighter in weight. So easy to start. Just put in the battery and choose a speed and press the handle and go. So easy to adjust the height of all the wheels to the several choices with the one handle. It has a lighted gage that lets the user know the status of the battery charge. These Green lights go out one by one and as the battery runs etc. Our grass grows thick and at times high. Never had a problem cutting it. Am able to cut both our front and back yards ( plus our elderly neighbor’s yard on one charge!!!) Our yard is a fairly good size, also. Plus the battery only takes approximately 1/2 hr to recharge. I will never go back to a gasoline lawn mower. Don’t miss all that exhaustion of pulling a cord. Having to run out and get gasoline or those messy oil changes. But most importantly not breathing in all that exhaust fumes. Additionally, it’s so QUIET!! My neighbor even went and bought an electric battery operated lawnmower after trying ours. Ours is several years old and still running great. So is the battery. Highly recommend. Absolutely no regrets. Best decision I made purchasing it. ... show more
