  • It worked great!
Purchased this saw for cutting interior molding. We are short on space for storage, so the size of this saw appealed to us. It worked great!

  • Light wieght, works great.
Great saw for light work. Not heavy duty. Excellent on my smaller projects, trim and moulding. Got a great Black Friday price to sweeten the deal.

  • Package showed gift. No longer a surprise.
Would have preferred a cover on the box not showing what was inside box. This was a Christmas gift...... but now, not a surprise :) .

  • Great trim saw
Great saw for trim, Building decks, crown molding. keep slide lubed with silicone spray and it will slide easy and not collect dust. wish it was dual compound other than that best saw hands down.

  • Great saw for the price when you get it during the black friday sale at lowes.
Picked this saw up at lowes during their black friday sale for 79.99 and for the price it is great. I have a small garage shop so I needed a chop saw but couldn't deal with the bigger ones on the market. I saw this and just thought how great it would be. The only downside to this saw is that the blade it comes with is garbage. I gave it a quick go and I could barely make it through a 2x4. I then picked up a diablo blade from home depot and it cuts wood like butter. Solid saw. ... show more

  • This saw is lite weight and easy moved. It's a great trim
For the price you can't bet it. It slides, tilts and has a built on clamp to hold your wood in place. This saw is lite weight and easy moved. It's a great trim saw

  • Great at Black Friday price. Otherwise...
As with many others, I bought this during the Black Friday sale for $79. One cannot touch a sliding miter saw at that price anywhere. However I can only give it 3 stars because I have to ignore the Black Friday price, consider it at the "normal" price here and value it accordingly... in comparison with what it is supposed to do. PROS and CONS: * At $79 it was a steal. Seriously... a laser-guided sliding miter saw? Who could resist this. * At the standard $170 to $220+ price here... the attraction drops pretty quickly. * The motor is good and hefty and does not at all bog down during a cut. * It does make an accurate 90 degree cut (or whatever degree chosen) and it is consistent in cut angle. * The spring-based level bolt really needs to be nut-locked, as the spring-method allows the saw to change heights by as much as 1/32" during sawing. That may not seem like much unless one is trying to saw a clean specific-depth joint cut. This of course is easily fixable by removing the spring and adding a nut instead... and is the first mod I will do on the saw. Minor issue, easily fixed, and by no means a showstopper-- just something to be aware of. * The slide mechanism works smoothly and flawlessly. * HOWEVER... the saw is blocked from sliding completely back to where it needs to be... with the center of the blade falling short of the guide rail center. There are two ways to correct this: 1) Lower the saw blade as deeply as it will go into the base groove (which limits joint cuts) or 2) (preferable) Use a 3/4" board as a "rail buffer" to put the work to be cut further forward on the base. This also is an easy-solution and not a deal-killer. * The laser guide is not accurate... and as far as I can discern not adjustable. It lines up neither on the center of the cut nor the edge of the blade. As a result the saw cuts significantly to the left of the actual cut line. I plan to take that apart and see if I can align the laser more precisely... or replace it entirely with an add-on laser (a buck at dollar stores). * The laser beam itself rather than being a sharp paper-thin line can be 1/16" wide and "fuzzy"... making it rather useless as a guide device. The laser guide does not accurately place the blade, nor is it a thin enough beam for accurate placement reliability. "Eyeballing" the blade works better. * The sawdust catcher bag on the back/top of the device is not effective. Sawdust flies everywhere, regardless of the bag. In lieu of that I tried removing the bag and attaching a shop vac hose instead. The result was about the same as if I had no vac on it, indicating the basic sawdust-catching design of the saw simply doesn't work. NOTE: I double-checked reviews on other sites and they make the same observations... that the laser beam is inaccurate and the dust collector doesn't work. Others have tried the shop vac solution as well and report "only 10% dust collection"... which is consistent with my findings. Overall the saw is sturdy and well worth the money I and others here spent on it. If the price was regularly $79 I'd rate it 4 stars based solely on the value per dollar, since it does cut well. But at the current price one has to take into consideration the design/performance flaws vs standard cost; its overall value at that price drops a bit. ... show more
