I absolutely do not need any more knives, let alone an entire knife set. However I did actually need new steak knives, and this full tang set almost matches my beloved IKEA knives, so decided to try it out. This set is officially replacing another set I had recently picked up, and have become my new go-to’s, they’re that awesome. I’m also not saying this just because I received these in exchange for a review - I am very transparent about products and do not sugar coat anything. If I think a product is truly awesome or terrible, I mean it. And this knife set is truly awesome. I always found it redundant when reviewers say “these knives are sharp out of the box!,” well yes it would be bad on the manufacturer to ship dull knives, however I have had some knives arrive needing a quick pass on the honing steel. This set absolutely did not need any further sharpening. In fact I will go as far in saying these are probably the sharpest out of the box I’ve ever received. So please be careful when you get your own set, (because you will definitely want your own!). The set includes an 8in chef’s knife, 7in Santoku, 8in slicing, 8in bread, 5in utility, 3.5 paring, 6 - 4.5in steak, 1 pair kitchen shears, and finally the block. Weight and balance: these are very comfortable to handle even for my small hands. My boyfriend who has bear paws said they were very comfortable as well, and have noticed him only grabbing from this set anytime he needs a knife now. They’re not heavy, but not light either. The butchers knife weighed in at 6.7oz, which for me just right. The balance is decent on these, but I couldn’t really get the butcher’s knife to pass the index finger test. Honestly not a big deal to me as I’m not picky about knives having the perfect balance. And speaking of the butcher’s knife, I think this is my favorite blade out of the entire set - and I have 4 other butcher’s knives to compare to. The bottom curve and narrow tip of the blade is on the smaller side (top to bottom edge speaking) compared to the other ones I have, and found I much prefer this shape over the others. As for the steak knives - absolutely love these far more than both my old set and a newer recent set I had picked up. The full, fine serrated curved edge is exactly what I was looking for. They feel nice in the hand and cut through meat like butter - little to no effort needed. The block: I’ve never been a huge fan of traditional knife blocks as I found it annoying to have to place each blade in its own slot each time. While this set is no different and does not change my mind in that regard, I do love the angle of which the block presents the knives. It’s closer to a 45 degree angle thus making it much easier to pull knives out and place back in while the block is positioned under a kitchen cabinet. One other nifty feature on this block - the attached sharpener on the side. I personally have not tried out the sharpener at time of this review as none of the knives have needed a quick sharpening yet. I already have a honing steal, whetstone, electric 3-phase sharpener, and a handheld sharpener I much prefer to use, so not sure how much I will actually use the block sharpener. Still nice to have in a pinch though. Other thoughts: while the product description states these are dishwasher friendly, DO NOT PLACE THESE IN THE DISHWASHER. Or any knife in the dishwasher for that matter. Dishwashers can cause blade corrosion and dull the edge more quickly than use alone. There’s a reason you hear chefs say to never leave your knives sitting in water. Overall: Again, I absolutely love this set and am not exaggerating when I say that. Not only is it gorgeous to look at on the counter, but all the knives are very comfortable to handle and fit my hands better than a few others I own. If I was looking for a knife set to buy I would have happily paid full price for this particular set, which says a lot. Add in the fact it goes on sale too is even better. The media could not be loaded. These are a nice looking set of kitchen knives. Not a professional set but great for the average home chef. Super sharp, light weight and well balanced. The steak knives have a slight serrated edge as expected. I haven’t had a need to use the knife sharpener or the scissors yet but assuming these are in line with the same quality as the other utensils. I would recommend these as a decent set of inexpensive knives considering you get 14 pieces for under $200 ... show more

There are so many good things to say about this knife set! First, the unibody design is a HUGE upgrade over other competitors; not having to worry about wood handles warping in the dishwasher or food getting stuck under the rivets of plastic resin handles is the one of the best features of these knives! Second, these things are sharp and balanced! They feel very comfortable in the hand and retain that comfort even after chopping up multiple ingredients with multiple blades. Each blade is sharp enough to cut thin slices of tomato but sturdy enough to go through meats and cheeses with minimal effort. Third, the aesthetic nature of these alone is a selling point; these knives look and feel great! The built in sharpener is almost a necessity now and having the wide range of blades available really does set this product above its competition. Overall, spend the money on this product instead of buying a cheaper knife set. You will be very happy you did when you see the quality and craftsmanship of this set! ... show more

I have been pretty happy with these knives so far. They all seem to be well made and I really like that they are one continuous piece of steel. Our previous knives had plastic handles and they all eventually broke from use and from going through the dishwasher so many times. This all steel set should last way longer and be way more durable. All of the knives are pretty sharp as well and cut very well. I really like that the knife sharpener is built into the side of the block and makes it really easy to quickly and safely sharpen the knives. Sharp knives that gives you plenty of options for anything that needs cutting in your kitchen. The block is also solidly built and holds through knives nicely. This is a very good-looking and functional set of kitchen knives. They come out of the box extremely sharp and ready to use. The solid, one-piece construction means you will never have to worry about the handle getting loose and wobbly. The real-wood holder is very nice and functional as well. The attached sharpener is a great addition (although I think it will be a while before I need it for any of these knives). My wife and I adore this knife set and acquired it to replace our well worn Hamilton Beach set we’ve used for the last 15 years. I absolutely love the design of these knives, especially the fact that they’re a solid single piece of steel. This makes them much more durable and easy to clean. The texture of the handle makes it easy to acquire a secure grip and give me no worries of my hand slipping g down the handle during use!
