This set of knives is lightweight and sharp. I really like the soft grip handles. I like that it’s a compact block. However, the block is too heavy. The base of the knife block needs to be a little wider to provide more stability. Overall, it’s a good value.

The advertisement is a bit deceptive! There are 9 knives and then there are 5 measuring spoons (plastic) also color coded, along with another 5 sets of spoons for measuring smaller quantities (again color coded and plastic). The 20th item is the wooden stand! So when the product is described as a 20 piece knife set, that is what is meant. I am satisfied with the quality of the knives, and the measuring spoons will certainly e of help in the kitchen.

I should have read the description better, but this knife set is much smaller than I was expecting. The butcher block it sits in is only a few inches in width. The knives are good quality (not great... you're not paying for premium knives here) and the measuring cups were a nice bonus. The measuring cups, however, are of a material that I don't think will hold up well in really hot temperatures, so I wouldn't dip them into any boiling oils or similar cooking uses, but they should be great for standard temperature and dry measurements.

This knife set exceeded my expectations! Twenty dollars for 8 kitchen knives is a steal, plus the added measuring cups/spoons bonus. I already had a set of metal measuring cups, but I’ve been using these more often as they don’t rust and are easier to clean. As far as the knives go, my first test is always to cut a pineapple, and these has no issues. They may not be fancy or name brand, but they do the job just as well. This would be the perfect gift for a college student or someone starting out in a new home.

Wow! Pleasantly surprised by this set. Construction of the knives appears to be good quality, the blades are substantial, not thin or fragile feeling. They are hollow grind / serrated, and the hollow grind should keep an edge well. The handles have a very pleasant, slightly "tacky" or grippy feel and are quite well finished and well-balanced. The steak knives are partially serrated - not my favorite for a steak knife, but at least you have half the blade unserrated. All in all a great deal at this price point - with a decent wooden block to contain them all and the extra measuring spoons / cups this is a good deal and would make a great wedding gift, housewarming gift, or a quick and easy solution for a new apartment or RV or vacation cabin.
