I'm a wax canvas fan and this did not disappoint. It's heavy duty, but still rolls up nicely and keeps the knifes secure. It comes with some small protective tips for the knives. Use caution with these though as they are so small, this is where you could hurt yourself. I'm please with this purchase and although I'm not a working chef who needs these, it works great for camping and in the RV.

I use this as my traveling knife roll and am very pleased with its simple design. It holds my Chinese style chef's knife, my French style chef's knife, 2- fillet knives and a paring knife. The cloth material feels very durable and can be washed easily. They include little blade tip protectors which is nice, but my regular plastic ones fit the roll fine. This would be great as a backup roll or camping roll or even a daily knife roll to those in the Culinary arts fields.

This knife roll is made of heavy-duty, thick cotton canvas with a waxed coating. It is well made with nicely sewn seams; the set even comes with knife tip covers to protect the knife and keep the tips from puncturing the roll. The slot sizes are generous, with 7 slots to accommodate different sized knives or implements. The largest section can easily hold my butcher knife or even a rolling (pizza) cutter. Simply load up the slots, roll and secure with the attached tie, and you’re ready to safely transport knives and/or implements. I often assist with event food set up, from appetizers to desserts, so I selected this roll to safely take my knives to the various event sites. (This is a huge upgrade from rolling my knives in kitchen towels and hoping for the best.) When moving the knives in and out of the slots, I noticed the wax coating does show a slight mark, but that is not a real concern to me. I grew up in a military family; the knife roll reminds me of heavy duty utility packs meant for rough and ready service!

If you've ever worked in restaurants you know what a big deal it is to have your own knife roll. Even if you're not a pro and are just packing up your kitchen knives for camping travel or something like that, it's important to have a good quality roll for safety and to protect the blades from damage. This has a good design and I'm pleased with the quality. The seams were strong and neat, the fabric was clean and properly dyed for an even and consistent black color. The design has room for all the knives I’ll need to bring to cook outside the home, and it's sleek and streamlined without adding a lot of bulk like some designs do with fancy features. This is more minimalist, which suits my style just fine. I like that the fold-down cover design allows for a variety of handle lengths. It just feels like everything I want to carry is a good fit in here.

This is really handy when I need to take all the knives to the garage to sharpen them. Unfortunately, the stitching at the bottom of the pockets is either missing or really weak. One of the knives went straight through the bottom right away and another pocket's stitching gave way after about the 4th use.

This would work well for a variety of kitchen knives if you're a traveling chef or if you bring your own knives to work in a restaurant. I'm using it to keep my non-kitchen knives organized so they're not just taking up space in a drawer. I have a small collection of fixed blade and folding outdoor knives and this knife bag is perfect in every way for storing them. I haven't needed the plastic protective tips, but I'm glad to have them in case I decide to store my extra kitchen knives in a second bag. Highly recommended.

Got this for my partner who is a sous chef and he loves it with the exception of the ribbon used to tie it shut with. Everything is very well made except that part which is the reason for the deduction of a star. Still very functional and the thickness of the material is great for those sharp chef knifes.
