I could not be happier. The metal Is one piece from handle to blade. The block is a beautiful block with beveled edges and finish but not too big! The knives are very sharp and slices like cutting through butter. Update: I love them even more! After using most of the knives now I can testify to the ease of use and quality cut. Although I have never had knives of this quality, I have used my daughters who buys chef name brands at 100's of dollars for a single knife. These are every bit as quality! These knives have been great. They stay sharp. The seration on the steak knives is really good not tiny little sawing spikes but sharp wavy spikes similar to the old ginsu knives. (Cuts steak effortlessly). I have had no trouble with tarnishing both hand washing and in dishwasher. I like that the seamless handles make it really easy to clean. Over all much happier with these over my expensive Henkel knife set that I had, that all the handles cracked and they did nothing about it after I submitted pictures to them. ... show more

    • Would give a four and a half if possible as paint is chipping in first month around knife slots

I'd give them a four and a half if I could. Knives are sharp. Honing rod is effective. Attractive set all around with a nice selection of knives included. Scissors are of good quality. The ONLY problem so far is that it is already obvious in the first month that the paint is going to chip from the block around the knife slots in response to re-inserting the knives after use. ... show more
