Ok, so I took a lot of photos, for they tell a story. And truly, the story itself says: "I love you and care about you." Or something similar, if you like. This is an item, not cheap at all, yet for that quality, it comes with the aforementioned statement. Before I even get into the details, let me discuss who I think these are "perfect" for. First, while they are surely universally useful and useable, they lean a skosh more toward a feminine experience, especially the more pastel color palate offerings. Let that not deter one from obtaining or giving this to your fav fella, mind you. Just saying, the beloved gal in your life will perhaps a bit more find this especially suitable and long lasting. Further, considering say a wife, daughter, sister, girlfriend, co-worker, etc... What you are also saying is that you really care that for years to come, their kitchen experience is to be much more lovely and enjoyable for this gift. And it will be. Ok, I hope I said that as gently as I could, not pushing gents away, yet dads, your daughters who are graduating college, buying their first home, etc. This is the gift that will be in their lives for decades. As for the item, specifically, it is indeed well made. The subtlety, the lines, the sleek design. They all speak toward an item that seems almost bespoke in its manufacture. Not some bulky knife block, taking up half the counter. But an elegant holster of quality kitchen cutlery. As for the knives, to me, this is the only place this item stumbles a wee bit, but most won't know it. I'm a bit if a knife... aficionado, or snob if you are less than gentle. Truly, I appreciate a top tier, well-made knife, and love those which will last for generations. These are, to me, just a touch under this quality. But only a bit. The steel is on the thinner side, all told. The blade is a tiny bit less sharp than I would want for a premium knife. I don't think these will necessarily last for decades, but for upwards of one or two, they will give a solid performance. In the end, most won't even notice anything other than a fine quality set of knives, which they surely yet are in truth. I have yet to come across anything similar of this quality and care, across the board, and whole heartedly recommend them to anyone who simply enjoys something as lovely and useful in their kitchen and their life.

We needed a second smaller set of knives to sit next to the stove, our kitchen is large and our big knife block is on the other side of the kitchen which lead me to ordering this set because it appeared to be high quality with a small footprint. This package arrived, I opened it and I found a gift bag. Inside the gift bag is a very fancy magnetic closure gift box. And inside the gift box very well packaged and protected were the set of 5 knives, already in the block with a thick clear protector on each and every blade. When a company put this much effort into the packaging, I can be sure that the product is not just high quality, it is of exceptional quality - and so these are. The holder is sleek, small and very modern. The knives are perfectly sized for my needs, the handles are comfortable to grip and the blades are n-i-c-e. Besides being razor sharp, the metal looks a lot nicer than what was used in our other set. There was a little bit of whatever was used to polish the knives left on them near the handle on the blade, but I always wash everything before I use it, so it really didn't matter. The other thing about the impressive presentation and the high quality is that I am very certain the manufacturer KNOWS they make a product of exceptional quality, and they are very proud of that fact. Which means that customer service is also paramount, if I had any issues with this knife set, I have NO doubt that customer service would be very responsive to my needs. These are really just perfect for nearly anywhere you cook. Kitchen countertop, especially in a kitchen with limited countertop space as this is a very small block. RV's are notorious for never having enough countertop space, but these will fit perfectly in any RV. We are firm believers in the old adage "you get what you pay for", so I honestly can say that these knives cost more than so many others, yes. But when I look at the exceptional workmanship and quality, I know they're worth the extra. These knives will likely last 3 times longer than the less expensive counterparts, and they will always do a better job. If you need to get a special gift for someone who is having a housewarming party, or wedding - these make a very impressive and useful gift!

This Lordelle 5-piece knife block set is so nice and well made. Upon opening the box and seeing the packaging itself I was blown away. Next, I removed all of the knives from the beautiful block, along with their protective sleeves, put each of them them in my hand to see how they felt, and they all felt very natural, and comfortable, with balanced weight. This didn't surprise me as they are crafted with German-made X-50 stainless steel. My experience has taught me products made in Germany are top of the line products, they don't waste their time making junk. The ash wood block itself is also beautiful. Plus, it takes a lot less counter space than my other set. Its evident that is has been crafted well. At first, I thought the price was a bit high for a 5-piece knife block set. But after going through the entire set and experiencing all of its wonderful crafted features, I changed my mind. This set is truly a dream knife set.
