So I had Achilles tendon reattachment and repair surgery done. This means zero weight bearing for some time. Crutches were too temping for me to put weight on the foot and a knee scooter is highly recommended regardless. Decided to spend the extra money (HSA dollars) and get this one. Some specs on me... I'm 5'9" (1.75M) and 195-205lbs (91kg). I'm also generally good with balance as well and overall decent health. I thought for what it was it was strong and well built. I didn't need any extra padding for my knee. I was able to take it out in my yard comfortably. You aren't going to do any bike flips with it but was able to go over my bits of bumpy grass without too much issue. I do think the air filled tires were key to keeping the "rough" bumps at bay. Wife was able to fold it up and lift it into a Rav4 trunk and use the mechanism to collapse it without to much issue. My daughter thinks it is a toy for her to play with (10 year old). Is it "unstable"? I don't think so. I have a slightly tilted driveway and if I came down it too fast and tried a full turn oh ya you would flip, but I assume you don't do that. For those with qualities issues, I had none of those. The wheels were straight upon assembly. Wheels didn't leak air, never had to add more air during my month solid usage indoors and out. The issue with the nuts on the wheels is semi legit. I think the rounded tips on the one I got reduced any major issues but I was aware of them at all times and a few times it would have been nice if those bolts were recessed. Turning radius is large, but it's that or be even more prone to tipping. These things aren't a car with a wide base. Its designed to help you be mobile. One trick around the large radius for me was to hold the break which brakes the back wheel then "wheelie up and rotate" when I needed to. Use that tip at your own comfort level or not at all. I also only used it on a single floor for the most part other than when I got it outside. I used crutches for the floor I wasn't going to be on very much. I did think just buying a super cheap one but crutches worked good enough for those few times I had to go to my second floor. In the end now that I'm finally cleared for weight bearing walking (in boot) again I no longer need it would be the right time to review. I would 100% recommend this if anybody has this type of surgery and are understanding that it's not a wide wheel based "stable" device. I never tipped, I never felt unsafe, brakes worked great and if you know how to adjust wire brakes (motorcyclist and cyclist here) you can tune them in perfect. The seller also took HSA for this which is great and the shipped product came on time and there were no damages upon arrival to the shipping box. Assembly was easy for me and intuitive enough. Thank you Kneerover for making a product made my life a lot easier than it could have been during my recovery.

I like my All-Terrain KneeRover, it’s perfect for rolling over hard floors, carpet, and small bumps with ease. But where it really shines (compared to other models) is outdoors. I’ve taken this thing everywhere one might reasonably attempt to go, including through loose driveway stones with relative ease and stability. The large(r) diameter pneumatic tires help immensely in that regard. Other models with hard/small tires are prone to catching on cracks, pebbles, and even the small transition strips between carpeting and hard flooring. NOTE: if you are physically weak, unstable, have balance issues and/or have difficulty backing a car in close quarters, then, a KneeRover may not be for you. This thing doesn’t turn very short, so it helps immensely to plan ahead when you enter a room, and have your route planned out in advance. Note: This note is more of a comment than a complaint. The KneeRovers turning radius is necessarily large so that stability is maintained - otherwise people would be turning too short (at speed) and falling off. If your balance and physical condition permits it, you can lift the front wheels while standing on your “good” foot/leg and “pirouette“ on the rear wheel(s) to shorten your turning radius, thereby reducing the number of back and forth steps required to turn around in tight spaces (like a bathroom). While the positive benefits of the KneeRover far outweighs the negatives, there are a few things that could be better: * Wobbly steering column connection. As long as you assemble it properly the steering column and retaining bolt will stay secure... but it’s - loose fit and it wobbles. * The brake seems to require excessive force to get it into parking brake mode, and even then it doesn’t seem to stay engaged. * Max air pressure on the tires is 40psi, which is still a bit soft for my 270 lbs. because they feel just a little more squishy than I’d like. I initially bought my All-Terrain KneeRover “Used-Like-New, with all original packaging” from Amazon (see first photo). What I received (from Amazon) was a compact/portable model (meaning foldable) KneeRover GO with small, hard wheels (see photo two). The markings on the box indicated that it was an All-Terrain model, but that’s not what was jammed inside. And Amazon’s claim that it included “all original packing” was literally a joke (see third photo). The original purchaser obviously purchased two (2) different KneeRover models, then pulled a switcheroo by returning the less expensive model KneeRover inside the more expensive box! And Amazon never verified the contents when they accepted the return; rather they merely re-sold it as the ($100 more expensive) All-Terrain model. OK, I get it, mistakes happen. But what REALLY steamed my clams is Amazon flat-out refused to make it right by shipping me another All-Terrain KneeRover, until I had returned (and they had physically received) the KneeRover GO that had erroneously sent me. That was unacceptable since I had already spent 5 days waiting to receive my KneeRover from Amazon the first time. Not only did Amazon refuse to ship another (hopefully the correct model) KneeRover until they had the first one back in their hands, they said that it would take an additional 5-7 business days from when they received my return before I could expect a replacement. At this point I elected to switch from an Amazon Exchange to a Return/Refund, and called KneeRover directly. Trey at KneeRover was exceptionally helpful, even discounting my purchase by graciously applying a sale coupon to my All-Terrain KneeRover and even provided free shipping. I had my brand-new KneeRover directly from KneeRover in LESS time than Amazon would have taken to correct their mistake... and at a price that was within $5 of Amazon’s “Used-Like-New” price. CONCLUSION: While I am thoroughly disgusted with the refusal by Amazon to make good on their mistake, I am grateful to have found KneeRover because the walker that the hospital sold me (so I could get around with my shattered ankle) was killing my shoulders since I had to lift my entire weight for EVERY step. Like anything else there are aspects that are the result of compromises between functionality and safety, but KneeRover has done an excellent job of providing an outstanding product that fills a niche. HOORAY for KneeRover! Amazon, not so much.

I fractured my foot and needed to be non-weight bearing for 8+ weeks. This scooter was great outdoors (and indoors)! The larger inflatable wheels would roll over bumps and cracks in outdoor terrain that another scooter I purchased that had smaller non-inflatable wheels would not. Good construction and easy to put together. Took it on an airplane and was able to check at gate (remember to deflate wheels by 15-20 PSI for flying). Fit in back of medium size SUV if handle bar was lowered (but can be condensed further if needed for smaller areas). Knee pad was comfortable. I was able to scooter 2+ miles around our local pond with not problem. It didn’t come with a basket, but I purchased one from KneeRover that worked great for light shopping and getting smaller items from place to place that I wasn’t able to move using crutches. Loved the four wheel design. Felt it made it more stable than some of the three wheel designs I looked at. If your looking for a scooter and like to be active, I would highly recommend this model.

The scooter is great and honestly kind of fun to scoot around on, but it does leave black marks all over my LVP floor. The marks come off with a good mopping but it’s not a fun process to mop on one leg. This scooter also works well in the gravel, grass, and other outdoor situations. However, if I were to need a knee scooter again in the future, I would purchase two knee scooters. 1. A 360 model for indoors and 2. a less expensive all terrain model ( from somewhere cheaper than knee rover) for outdoor activities. The cornering and backing up on this specific model is aggravating. The back wheels need to turn (hence 360 model). The knee scooter is stable and moves smoothly. It does not breakdown easily for a single person travel. Overall, it did the job I needed it to do but it is pricey and I honestly don’t know if the price warrants 4 weeks of use. I’d spend the extra money on a 360 model and not worry so much about the all terrain aspects. Also, if you need to go to work daily, without help, this is not the model you want.

Bought this for my husband who has diabetic foot problems and his doctor told him to start using this. Several weeks later, he still had not used it and I just happened to break my ankle in three places and had to have surgery on it. 😆 this thing is a lifesaver! They did send me a broken tie rod end, but they replaced it immediately and customer service is very accessible by calling the phone number (I think it was on the website, but it might have been in the book that comes along with it). The bike is great quality. I was using crutches and am non-load bearing on one foot. I fell twice with my crutches. My good leg got so sore from hopping that I thought it was going to break also by the time i used the crutches for a few days. All my ribs even hurt from the crutches. I am getting older and I am not in great physical shape. I have balance issues on top of that. The crutches were awful for me. Now I cruise around on this knee bike and have no problems getting around in my house or outside. I am confident on it, and I feel supported and balanced. It is easy to get on it without someone else helping me. And it has another benefit for me--I know that I would have gotten depressed because I would have avoided getting up and stayed in bed or sat around too long without this, so it is good for my mental health too! Get this now!

Update 8/16/19 I have been using this knee scooter for two months and still have a bit of time to go on it. It has performed beautifully all during this time and I am very pleased with it. It has allowed me the freedom and independence to do many things with ease that I would not be able to do using crutches, a walker or a wheelchair. It’s surprisingly good exercise and is great for staying more active than when using other mobility devices. It’s very stable and solidly built. The tires have been performing flawlessly. Mine arrived quickly and it was easy to finish the assembly. We used a professional air compressor to finish inflating the tires to a bit below the highest recommended pressure. Unfortunately, one hour after trying it out in my house I ventured out to the garage and was standing still when a back rear tire popped loudly and hissed itself into a flat. I contacted customer service in Georgia and they sent me a new tire assembly and a spare tube to fix the existing tire. I took the quad to a bike shop and had them change out the tires, repair the spare tire with the new tube and adjust the brake. They were surprised that the damaged tube had such a large hole in it as there was no damage to the tire itself. Their guess is that the tube may have been bunched up over itself when it was originally installed. I am still giving 5 stars because the company stood behind their product and immediately set a solution in motion at no cost to me. Pneumatic tires are wonderful for different terrains but the tubes can be an issue. ( This is also true of strollers with this type of tire.) I would suggest buying a spare tube and keeping it on hand to avoid downtime with the scooter. Another consideration is that the brake is hard to set. I don’t have strong hands and I have to use both hands to set the brake. When I do a good job of it the scooter stays locked in position. A not so good job means it might roll a little bit. I am mindful of how I leave it. This scooter has a rear brake which is a feature I was looking for. Those two issues discussed, I am very happy with this knee scooter. It feels very stable and solid and I am getting more skilled at riding it by the day. I highly recommend getting a scooter with a tie bar for the steering as this scooter has. These scooters are not designed to turn on a dime for safety reasons. The tie bar does make steering easier and I use a “wiggle” method to change my angle to head where I want to go. I have used it on tile, carpet, cement, asphalt and grass. It has performed wonderfully on all. I added the basket and an extra knee pad cushion. I find that both are worth the additional expense. I want to add that people I encounter while I am out and about are generally impressed with this scooter. They are curious about it as they seem to notice the scooter first and my cast second. In restaurants this scooter tucks up to the side of a table or booth and the handlebars can be lowered enough so as not to impede service. Also two of the tires fit neatly under the tabletop so the other side of the scooter does not block or interfere with foot traffic for other guests or servers. When you sit, the scooter seat can be used as a leg/foot rest and provide elevation. On a purely vanity note, the blue color of my scooter is really beautiful. All the finishing details are very well done.

This scooter was so much superior to all the cheap ones it is almost hard to explain. 1. Much, much stronger and better built. I had one of the cheap ones actually break under me, and when you are recovering from ankle surgery, that is a disaster waiting to happen. 2. Steering is real steering, like a car, so when you hit the occasional pebble or such, it does not twist the entire handle and try to tip you over. 3. The air-filled tires make rolling everywhere a thousand times easier. Easier on your floors, easier on your knee, go on gravel, grass, parking lots, etc. much more safely. 4. This can not be overstated - IT HAS A REAL BRAKE. Most of the cheap scooters have the cheap metal piece that simply presses against the tire, so it only takes a small amount of force to move the scooter even while the brake is applied. As you can imagine, this can be very dangerous to someone on one leg, trying to use the scooter to balance/assist themselves getting up and down. 5. The tires are also large enough to go up a stair, and over curbs without the metal frame hitting. It worked wonderfully as an aid to get in and out of my shower even. 6. Do yourself a favor and buy the memory foam cushion topper. It made all the difference on how thrashed my knee felt from being on the seat so much.

Crutches are like a bad relationship—you put in all the work and still get nowhere. Enter the knee rover, my trusty sidekick. It’s not just a scooter for the injured; it’s a mobility revolution! First off, maneuverability? This thing turns tighter than my wallet on payday. You can zip through doorways, weave around furniture, and dodge pets like a pro.
