After I had used this product twice, I thought it gave my hair fantastic hold and body. I was thrilled, since I have fine, thin hair and need all the styling help I can get. So I took it on vacation for a week and used it every day. A couple of days into my vacation, I noticed what looked like green highlights beginning to appear in my "salt and pepper" hair. (Now "salt and parsley" hair!) I thought it was just the lighting in the bathroom, but every day my hair seemed to be getting a little greener, and the thought occurred to me that it might not just be the lighting or my imagination. I was appalled to get home and discover, in my own bathroom lighting, that indeed, my hair had streaks of green. Nasty, yellowish-green. The next day I went to get a haircut and asked my stylist what in the world I could do to get rid of the green. He suggested a trick that some of his blonde clients had tried to get the "chlorine green" out of their hair — KETCHUP! I decided that if a setting gel could turn my silver hair green, that ketchup might turn it red or orange, and I wasn't willing to take the chance. So I searched the Internet to seek other solutions. I used a clarifying shampoo. Then I tried purple shampoo and conditioner, designed for silver hair. When those didn't work, I resorted to making a paste of baking soda and lemon juice — and applying it to my hair and spending 15 minutes with a ziploc bag on my head. That made a small difference, and perhaps if I do it often enough, I might succeed in reclaiming what used to be pretty silver hair. But what an ordeal! So please be warned if you have blonde or silver hair. You don't want to end up like I did!
