I bought this to add to my collection of off grid type of gadgets. I am also using this for my upcoming camping trip. The good: it's a very nice and bright light! Dimmable. I will surely find good uses for it. The bad: It can only be used with an external power pack. It's MY fault for not looking more closely at this product info before I bought it. Had I known that, I probably would not have bought it. I think the price is way too high for a light with no battery storage. Now, since I have my various solar battery pack chargers I will use the light with those. But if I didn't have those battery packs, I would've been very annoyed (again, mostly at myself for not reading more thoroughly and carefully at what I was buying). Will this light stand the test of time? It's too soon to tell, but I'm hoping it does well. Sorry the quality of my pics are not great. ... show more

Easy to use, got this for a family camping trip and it worked extremely well. Has a nice soft light that doesn't blind you. It's light and packs away well. As for durability, that remains to be seen but as of one use I think this is a great product.

Got this for camping, as it was easier to pack than a lantern, and I figured the tube style would spread out lighting more evenly, like a flourescent tube. Worked out pretty well, we used it on the picnic table or in the tent. It's a pretty bright light, I found putting in a bag to diffuse the light, or just putting it light side down was better. The Large or XL sizes apparently have a dimming option, if price wasn't an issue, I would consider getting those for that feature. The lack of a power source and short cable is kind of annoying, but with a decent size battery pack or portable power back, it's manageable. ... show more

Great concept. i'd give it 5 stars if they offered a version with a lower temp led. this lamp's temp is around 6000, which is so bright it's blue light. a warmer version should be offered (somewhere around 3000-3500). if they offer a warmer version of this lamp it will be a 5 star product. also, ya may want to buy a USB extension cord, as the cord length is around 2 ft. overall i like it, and will buy more if they make a warmer LED version. ... show more

The usb could have a C connection and cord could be long for those that don't have a hammock or sleeve on top of tent. Puts out plenty of light and packs sm.
