I’ve owned a high-quality stereo system featuring KEF Reference floor-standing speakers for over a decade. While the sound has always been impressive, I found it lacked bass depth. Recently, I decided to enhance the experience by adding a Klipsch subwoofer, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The addition of the Klipsch subwoofer has significantly enriched the sound, bringing much-needed depth and warmth to the music.     • 12" was too much. This 10" SW is perfect for our large room and Elac speaker set.

We recently upgraded our Def Tech ProCinema 1000 front and center speakers to the newly released Elac Uni-Fi 2.0. Those speakers sound amazing. However, my old Infinity 8" SW was woefully inadequate (it always was), so we hunted around for an upgrade. Our family room is fairly large at about 16' x 28', and half open on one long side to a large kitchen, bar area and a wide corridor to the entry. I presumed we would need a larger SW so we bought Klipsch's 12sw. It tuned out to be anything but subtle, didn't blend with the Elacs at all and was way too boomy, particularly at lower volumes - it was difficult to control. In short, it was obnoxious to listen to. Thanks to a particular wholesale membership warehouse with an excellent return policy, I was able to return that 12" Klipsch. Thankfully. While this speaker is also a Klipsch, though the 10", it is their newer design and while I could not determine if they made changes in the crossover or the woofer itself, we took a shot and bought one. Long story short, this SW fits in perfectly. It blends nearly seamlessly with the Elacs (after a little fiddling with the crossover point), fills the room very well, "adds" rather than takes over lower level audio content, and really comes alive at mid volumes. In other words, even steaming Netflix or Amazon content with good audio content deserving of a SW (e.g. The Expanse), we can keep the volume very moderate and yet get solid yet controlled enhancement of base frequencies, like space ship engines and gun fire. We're very happy and impressed with this SW. I'm also very happy that I didn't have to spend $600 on the Elac SW - which I would have done if this did not work out. We have a larger room and this SW worked very well for our needs. While not small in any way, it's a LOT smaller than the behemoth 12" version. ... show more

    • Massive sound improvement for a great price!

I didn't realize what I was missing! I'm still adjusting the cross-over frequency. It might be a touch low as the sub does not contribute much for certain songs and genres without pronounced bass. Crossover is easy to adjust. Not only do the bass tones contribute to the fullness of what we hear, having the sound come from down low, when the primary speakers are in the ceiling, makes for a more complex listening experience. Fit and finish are superb. Really I can't fault it and would be happy with the appearance and build quality at a much higher price point. Klipsch is the real deal and this unit does not disappoint. For some reason I was expecting something a little smaller. Check the dimensions. Also, this is fairly heavy. Size and weight are all important to bass performance of course, so I am neither surprised nor disappointed. Klipsch is great but they can't defeat physics! So a big, heavy box with a big speaker to move a lot of air are required to get solid bass sound. Fits well beside my cabinet and is out of the way. Unnoticed until it makes a contribution to a song. The room is not too well sound conditioned so it's a tiny bit boomy in its present location. Not a bad thing in my opinion, depending on the music actually. I may move it but I'm sure I don't have too long to wait before my wife adds some furniture and other fittings which will help with sound. Totally satisfied and would recommend this unit to anyone save the most demanding audiophile. ... show more

Holy smokes, this thing thumps! Got this at an amazing price to replace my beginner's subwoofer from Monoprice. It's a whole new world. Paired with a Denon AVR and other Klipsch speakers all around, this is an amazing addition to my set up. The bass is crisp and clean. Volume control easily managed through AVR. Fits perfectly into my room and within my system. Functions amazingly. I love this thing! Can't go wrong with this sub. 5 stars all the way. I was looking for a replacement subwoofer. I called Klipsch to verify that the seller was an authorized seller. I have floor standing main speakers and was looking for something that would add something to the bottom end of the sound. I was pleasantly surprised by this little sub. Added just what I was looking for. If you have the room I would recommend two of these on either side of your mains. Does this provide house shaking bass like my old 12" sub, no, but that's not what I bought it for. Does it provide enough bass for our open floor living area, yes it does. Does great with music and movies. Don't know if I would recommend it for someone who has all small speakers and looking for the sub to play all the way up to 150 Hz and match the sound of what you have, unless you bought the matching ones that Klipsch sells. Around 80 Hz and below is where this little sub shines. ... show more

I've had this 10" sub for over two years now. I'm very happy with my purchase to this day. I have it in a 2.1 system for my gaming PC. The sub is connected to the SMSL SA300 amplifier, and to my Creative AE05 Plus Pure soundcard. I love my setup. I didn't want to be stuck with headphones as my only option for quality sound, and this sub does not disappoint. It's exactly what I was looking for: Smooth, responsive, accurate bass that can get loud when you need it to. This thing does shake the walls in the other room when you pump her up a bit. The built-in digital amp provides very good response and nice, accurate bass that will not distort at higher volumes. It's quite the treat for the ears when doing some gaming, or streaming music. Only thing to keep in mind is the level control is VERY sensitive, and it's a must to get that dialed in properly to enjoy the full capabilities of this subwoofer. For me, this 10" sub is the perfect complement for my bookshelf speakers, and to this day I still admire just how good my system sounds for a nearfield 2.1 soundstage. ... show more

This thing is great! Gain is just under halfway and it's loud. I have a couple subs in my car so I needed the bass thundering. That real at the movies feeling. This delivers. I haven't turned it up very loud yet because I'm in a duplex and don't wanna piss off my neighbors. But it did put a huge smile on my face when the bassy action sequences hit, or theme music started.
