  • Klipsch RP600M II
Color: Ebony
So after reading and watching the many reviews on YouTube, e.g. Audiophiles, CheapAudioMan, etc. I was intrigued. I have several high end systems and needed a small pair of bookshelves for my bedroom. The system consists of a small tube amp at 6w per channel and a separate DAC. I do not want to list the brands, as this is about the Speakers. Long story short, I am very impressed. The 6W with the high efficiency is enough to fill the room with lovely dynamic sound. My genre is mostly female vocals, rock, indie, and some heavy metal. Dead Sara, Stephanie Hatzikolis, Freya Ridings, and Meg Myers, to list a few. So it covers the gamut of styles. The speakers are airy and has a nice top end without being harsh as horns can be. The bass was very nice and articulate for such a small speaker. I do not feel I need a sub for such a small room. It's about 10 by 12. So not huge. If running in a larger room, I would think you could benefit from the use of sub but for my needs it's just fine. For grins I ran the speakers on my reference system with is a high current, high output system. They sounded even better. I ran them about three feet into the room, they were about 6 inches from the wall in my bedroom. They really opened up, so I think the better your system, or system synergy, the better they perform so depends on what you are trying to achieve I suppose. Overall, five stars for value to performance. If you want concert level output, go with towers. But if you just want amazing sound quality at a good value, these will more than suffice. These would be considered an excellent entry level audiophile speaker in my opinion. The imaging is amazing, sound stage is a but lacking as far as depth but that was improved with my outboard DAC. Not perfect, but wow, for the money! Pull the trigger! Also, if it's not your cup of tea, they would be easy to sell and recoup the majority if not all of your money, or just return them. Worth your time I think! ... show more

  • When purchased on sale one of the best stand mounts for the money
Color: Ebony
I have been a home theater enthusiast/amateur audiophile for the past 13 years. I recently moved from a large single family home to an urban apartment for work and needed to rethink my audio needs. Klipsch had largely been relegated to a theater centric audio solution for me but wasn't really on my radar for my search for stand-mounts for my 2 channel setup in my new apartment. After watching a number of youtube reviews, reading reddit, and visiting various forums I realized these were well regarded in the Sub $500 category. When I found an Amazon sale for under $400 I gave these a shot and have been immensely satisfied with the experience. Who are these for? If you are looking for a great music and movie choice you can't go wrong with these speakers they are exciting, detailed, and have a really surprising level of bass response. They are forgiving, easy to drive, and handle all sources well. I have fed them analog vinyl, digital streaming, dolby digital with LFE, and HiFI sources and all sounded great. People who have larger space and room to pull these off the wall as they are rear ported. Apartment dwellers who don't have thin walls, these are large speakers and while they are way more apartment friendly than my tower speakers they are still big speakers with presence. Who aren't these for? Audio purists who want a neutral reference sound, I have the PSB's for my office near field and there is a distinct difference between the 2 speakers in regards to neutrality. The Klipsch is livelier, louder, and more exciting where the PSB is more pure. Near field listeners, these speakers need room to disperse and breathe. Small rooms with no ability to get off the wall. These are rear ported so need some space to port for the bass effects. Overall at $400 these are an outstanding value and I couldn't be happier I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Rp600m ebony
Color: Ebony
These rp600m ebony speakers arrived new and undamaged in a timely manner, especially for the distance between the shipping origin and my location. These were purchased just prior to a pair of new rp500ms of the walnut color. Color was not an issue at the discounted prices. The rp600m speakers are on b of my 100 watts per channel amplifier, with the rp500ms and a 10 inch subwoofer. I am a 2 channel music person, not a home theater person but I am sure they would make fine 5.1 and 7.1 speakers as well. Without an equalizer, and with the tone controls of the amplifier at zero bass and treble boost ,the klipsch speakers have sufficient bass and treble in harmony with the subwoofer. I find the horn tweeters are fairly mild relative to sounding " bright and in your face " like some people describe klipsch speakers. I suppose they might be if someone pushed the midrange and tweeters with eq and tone control of the amplifier. One thing I have noticed about these speakers is they will expose poorly mastered and recorded music. They sound great with high quality audio sources but they will not sound good if the music is not well mastered and recorded like cheaper speakers will. Cheaper speakers don't expose poor studio mastered music like these do. One would be wise to ensure the recorded and mastered music is high quality in judging the sound of these speakers. They will not sound good without good audio input, and that is a good thing. A cheap and sorry audio input source will not sound good through these speakers. Why should it? They sound great when the recording and mastering is great. 5 stars . They work well with rp500ms, as I have both new rp600ms and new rp500ms. ... show more
