  • Great blender but expensive.
So far so good. I gave up on the Ninja products as customer service was horrible. I really really hope kitchen aid can hold up as I use this mainly for smoothies as my husband and kids live by smoothies. I make up to 3 pitchers a week as this is his lunch on the go for his and my kids just really like smoothies! I'm skeptical of it though as it doesn't look as tough with the parts being made of plastic. But so far so good fingers crossed! ... show more

  • Great Company!
I absolutely love this blender! It's simple to use, clean, and powerful enough to pulverize a large, 2" ice cube in my smoothie every morning. When the inner gear disintegrated a few months after my warranty expired, they shipped me a brand-new unit without any argument. That speaks to the integrity of this company. I will buy KitchenAid whenever possible after this experience! ... show more

  • Now I understand why my daughter loved her Kitchen Aid blender so much!
I had a small rechargeable drink blender, but I wanted something to chop up ice cubes in a drink, so I ordered a Kitchen Aid blender! I was immediately impressed with it (I’ve enjoyed my Kitchen Aid mixer and attachments since the early 90’s). Another pleasant surprise: the blender pitcher does NOT drip after pouring the contents into a glass!!! First time I’ve ever seen a pitcher that doesn’t dribble!!! I love it! ... show more

  • Raw power and die cast body are good, daily operating experience (knob and button) not so much
The media could not be loaded. Edit (8/7/23): as mentioned in the original review, I reached out to KitchenAid support via their home website. My email was answered the following morning and, after answering a short list of questions, they sent out a new replacement for the product I originally ordered. Yes, the whole product, including a new 56oz jar and 16oz personal blending jar, along with the base unit I was originally having issues with. Considering the fast response time, this was a pleasant surprise, and highlights the strong company foundation the blender is built on. I do need to clarify that my original understanding of the knob controls was at fault. Blend settings 1 thru 5 are continuous and aren't meant to be notched, since the intent is to modulate the blending power continuously between these settings. So my dissatisfaction with that part of knob controls specifically is due to my own misunderstanding and has nothing to due with KitchenAid's quality control. Additionally, I stated in the original review that where the knob *does* notch into specific settings, the notch feels light/weak, and on the cusp of vibrating into different settings mid-use. It's still very true that the notch doesn't inspire much confidence in its ability to stay put, but after observing the blender more closely since writing the review, the base unit is actually quite well engineered, remaining very stable throughout use. I don't find it very likely that inadvertent settings changes will occur during blending, but still stand by my personal preference for a stronger notch mechanism. Also, I'm happy (in a sense) to confirm that my button *was* unusually unresponsive. The replacement unit's button is much better, but not as responsive as I'd personally like. I can get it to register with a casually firm button press (the original video shows that even firm presses didn't get a response, and I had to really tamp hard on it to get it to work), but very, very light button presses, even getting that audible click, won't register. So I'm revising my score from 3 stars to 4, inspired mostly by strong customer support and, to a lesser extent, by my bettered understanding of the how the knob should work. I still have issues with notching being lighter than I'd prefer, and with the button being a bit less responsive than I'd like clearly by design, but caveat that the base unit seems well engineered enough that this won't pose any real issues during use. Raw blending power remains top class. --- [Original Review:] I've had this blender for about two months now and have been using it anywhere from 4-7 times a week consisting mostly of blending ice fruit slushies with the occasional hot soup, which I believe represents a very typical usage scenario. While blending action retains strong performance, daily operating use concerning the knob and buttons started fairly disappointing day 1 and seems to have gotten worse. Let's get through the pros first, and they *are* significant: The die cast metal construction is robust and attractive. It's reminiscent of 1950s classic cars in a good way. On top of that, raw blending power is superb, able to handle anything I've thrown at it. It's powered through iced slushie drinks with good amounts of added honey as well as cauliflower soups and purees blended hot from the saucepan with minimal cleaning. A quick rinse is all that's usually needed if you can get the blades under running water right after the finishing up the blending job. Unfortunately, the looks and performance are crucially marred by its daily operating feel. In my video, while the "pulse" mode (accessed by turning the knob all the way counter clockwise) is fairly responsive, everything else.... isn't. I can't seem to notch anymore into blending settings 1 thru 3, and notching into any setting after that feels extremely light, not at all confidence inspiring. I'm pretty sure vibration from regular use is on the cusp of knocking the knob into a different setting mid run. On top of this, the button to confirm a chosen setting doesn't work unless I press really, really hard. It's very apparent in the video that I'm pressing the button just fine, registering an audible click and everything, but nothing happens unless I really shove down on it. I'll be reaching out to KitchenAid about possibly getting this unit replaced. The solid metal construction and blending power are robust, but I can't imagine this is the daily experience they expect users to tolerate every time they try to get something blended. ... show more

  • Awesome! Tad loud but POWERFUL.
I freeze small chunks of fruits and veggies for smoothies and this thing blows right through them… it’s a tad loud but it’s gooood. The base is solid and heavy and feels like it would fall through my floor if I drop it.. well made. Easy to clean, good blender!

  • Great power, not great controls
I love the power of this blender. I bought it because I am making food for my dog from human grade ingredients and the recipe includes eggs in the shell for calcium. The blender is fantastically powerful and vaporizes egg shells. There are a couple of cons. The controls on this blender are iffy. The power button is tiny and, if the dial isn't in just the right spot, it doesn't come on at all. Adjust the dial and it's fine. Also, the pitcher has become opaque from scratching (from egg shells) in under a dozen uses. Not deal breakers, but for the KitchenAid price, I feel all the components should be KitchenAid quality. Regarding cleaning, pitcher and lid are dishwasher safe. However, the interior of the pitcher is not smooth. It has 2 channels on each side that tend to hold blended food and have to be scraped with a spoon or spatula to remove. I'd swap for a smooth pitcher any day, but overall, the power was what I was after and I love it, just wish those components were a bit better. ... show more
