Alright, they’re knives. They’re incredibly sharp too. Have yet to tear into cutting some veggies for late evening snack so when I do I’ll come back and make a final opinion on sharpness though the fact that just touching one the wrong way was quite the painful zap shows how sharp these buggers are. Looks great on our counters and makes for an upgrade from open floating cutlery in the drawer to a unified cutlery set that isn’t from five vendors. Rust resistance I can’t speak of yet but I assume it’ll be good considering we hand wash everything. Bang for the dollar is what you’re going for with these, you’re not going for top of the line looks. They’re sterile and utilitarian. The block is very modern and may not fit into everyone’s decor. Luckily ours is agnostic of countertop items design. As it is a modern kitchen design anyway. I’m excited to get some fish with skin on it and get that filleting knife filleting! Now the negatives The block. It’s not the best fitting for all of the knives. One knife doesn’t fit fully resulting in its butt sticking out. The butt is sharp enough to be injurious, which is impressive to me because a lot of our knives the butt is dull compared to the rest of the blade. These are all near 100% usable blade area. Even the filleting knife is scary but exciting cause oh god I love fish! So. How to fix the butt stickin out SAVE THOSE LITTLE PLASTIC GUARDS! Always place one on the butt of your 8 inch chef knife (upper right blade) upper left is always your largest santoku knife. If you’re looking for a good starter set of blades to handle fish meet and run a proper kitchen without breaking the bank this is a great set to set up your kitchen with. Later on you may or may not find yourself desiring a design swap for a different handle type if the ergonomics of a round steel oversized scalpel style handle. Many people appreciate a wood grip that is more rectangular. I’m well used to round handle scalpels so these will be just fine for us. Thanks for the nice blades!

I love this knife set!! The knives are very sharp and cut amazingly. They are dishwasher safe although I usually hand wash them. The magnet is very powerful and hold the knives great, no issues there at all. It is on the heavier side so the adhesive did not work well for me even though it is a very strong adhesive, I went ahead and mounted it to the wall since you have both options available and it's been great! No rust so far and it's been about 8 months. Looks so nice in my kitchen

Gifted this beautiful set to my brother-in-law and he loves it. I’m in town for the birth of my niece we all just cooked a braid up dinner together and the knives were comfortable to hold and sliced with ease. Great gift or just a nice set to have!

These knives are nice and sharp out of the package and through short term use have held their edge well. The stainless handles are reasonably comfortable and hollow making the knives lighter than expected which I consider a benefit. The shears are not exactly scissor type action shares, they have a rounded groove towards the handle end, I don't know of its use honestly, it just hinders the scissor like use of the shears. I start a short scissor closure of the shears and just push them through the cut of the material which generally works reasonably well although unusual for myself. Better shears and I would have given the set 5 stars, as is 4 stars, yet the knives honestly should bring that higher, there's just no fractional option. Update: I purchased the 16 knife set nearly 16 months ago and they are still performing well, no rust as others have mentioned which puzzles me. Even with lack luster effort a fine edge can be brought back once these knives dull, I mean lack luster as in not even soaking my 6000 grit wet stone and just dry sharpening. Much better than previous knife sets I have had and the shears still suck.

The media could not be loaded. Something is off about the way this one knife to the upper right doesn't quite fit in it's designated slot. For an $80 price point this doesn't seem right to me, and is also bothersome. I gave it three stars because the knives themselves seem to be in good shape, but we haven’t used them yet. If you're trying to decide on a set, I would keep looking at other options.
