I’ve been using the KnifeSaga 15-piece Kitchen Knife Set, and it’s been a great upgrade for my kitchen. The Japanese-style blades are incredibly sharp and precise, making slicing and dicing effortless. I’ve used them on everything from delicate herbs to tougher cuts of meat, and they’ve held up well. The black knife block has a compact, modern design that fits nicely on the counter, and the included sharpener ensures the knives stay sharp. For the price, it’s a solid set that combines quality and style, perfect for everyday cooking. My old set is Chicago Cutlery, and I hesitate to get rid of it just yet, though.

The block it comes in can be easily, accidentally scratched. Knives are good and only hand washable. (As all good knives are only hand washable) I also have "Cutco" brand knives and they too are hand wash.

I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of this professional-looking Japanese KnifeSaga knife set. The current $169.99 price is a great value for all you recieve: 6 steak knives, plus a really practical and good variety of 6 other basic knives--each very useful and well-designed, plus kitchen shears and a sharpener. all you need for meal prep. The blades are very sharp, made from carbon steel. The knives have a beautiful feel and are well balance thanks to the full tang design (meaning that the metal of the blade also runs all the way through the shaft to the base of the handle.) I was surprised to observe that the handles are plastic. I would not have even noticed this aspect--they looked and felt like a black wood handle to me on first glance, so it didn't even catch my attention. Having read the other reviews I looked more closely and indeed they do appear to be plastic, but they actually look like high end knives so it's a surprise; they do a good job of engineering the handles to seem like black wood to the casual observer. I'm still going to give 5 stars (4.5 stars if I could go for half stars) since overall these are a delight to use and you cannot beat the price. They are perfect for a starter set for a young adult trying to stock their first kitchen with some good quality knives at an affordable price point. The wood block is painted black, which I wasn't sure about at first (I love the look of wood grain, and that is gone) but I actually LOVE how this knife block looks in our grey kitchen with stainless steel appliances and grey cabinets. Very modern looking and has a nice wow factor. ALl in all, I do recommend this set highly for a well made set of good basic knives and a very affordable price.

My 64 year old wife owns a 7” KnifeSaga P7 Pro chef's knife that is the best knife she has ever owned so that’s why we ordered this KnifeSaga Knife Block set. I tested every one of these knives for sharpness. They could all cut and shave paper, except of course the serrated bread knife! The acacia wood block is high quality heavyweight wood. The knives, sharpener and scissors fit nicely in the block. Items included and their use: 1. 8" Chef Knife: The most versatile and commonly used knife. It has a slightly curved blade and is perfect for most cooking tasks, including chopping and mincing. 2. 7" Santoku Knife: Used for mincing, dicing and slicing. The hollow-round on both sides of the blade reduces friction and prevents food from sticking so provides a sharper and more precise cutting effect. 3. 6" Boning Knife: Can bone thinner cuts of meat and fish with accuracy. Flexible and razor sharp edge. 4. 8" Bread Knife: The serrated edge is perfect for cutting bread. 5. 5" Utility Knife: The length is between the paring knife and the Chef’s knife. It is used for paring, trimming, peeling, slicing and dicing foods. 6. 3.5" Paring Knife: Due to its small size, the blade and tip can be finely controlled. It is used for precision cutting, peeling and garnishing. 7. 4.5" Non-serrated Steak Knives (6 each): Perfect sharp knifes for cutting steaks and other thick meats. 8. Kitchen Shears: a. Used for cutting meats, chicken bones, wings, poultry, seafood, herbs, vegetable, etc. b. The nut cracker between the handles can open sealed bottles, crack crab shells or nuts. 9. Knife Sharpener Rod: The file area is 6.5” long. The knife set has a lifetime warranty.

I consider knives under $200 for a set as a budget or starter knife set considering I own single knives in excess of $200. This set is aesthetically beautiful so you can display it proudly in the kitchen and the knives are all fairly sharp out of the box. To keep the edge you will want to hone them at least every 3 uses. The weight & construction are fair at this price category. I would recommend this set for anyone that just wants a nice set of knives without breaking the bank. At $169 you're getting each item for about $12, I consider that a very fair price. Currently there is an instant coupon bringing the price down even more which makes this an easy choice.
