I waited to write this review until I wore the dress for a formal event and then washed it. This Alex Evenings woman’s long cold shoulder dress is just wonderful!! It is great quality material and stitching. Arrived within 10 days or less. The fit was perfect (however I did have it hemmed 3 - 4 inches shorter as I’m only 5’2” and ordered regular length (if the dress came in petite sizes I missed that) I am 170 lbs with most of my weight in the bum and thighs. This dress shows curves beautifully. It gently pulls the waist in and has a front type overlay which is forgiving in the waist. The stretch in the material makes it so comfortable without binding you. I tried it on and my husband loved the curves in it! I had a formal wedding to attend, and got so many compliments on the dress. I’m 68 and felt like a prom Queen, haha!! Buy this dress, you will love it. I also washed the dress. Directions state wash in cold by hand. But I put the dress in a large laundry bag I use for my delegates (about 25” X 25” laundry bag I got at TJMaxx) and washed in cold water on my delicate cycle in washing machine. I hung it on hanger to dry and it turned out beautiful!

I've been searching for a black formal gown for awhile and finally found it with this one (Alex Evenings Long Cold Shoulder Dress)! I've been so discouraged by so many that I tried and returned due to the bad fit or quality of fabric. I'm in my 60's, 5'1, about 145lbs; the fit is lovely and drapes nicely; hides the tummy. Some complained about the excess of glitter, but I didn't have that problem. It's a glamorous dress and will be perfect for the formal evening wedding that I'm attending!

I wore this on a cruise and it was perfect even after being packed tightly in a suitcase. I’m 5’ 3” and bought a petite and it was the perfect length with a pair of heels. It does leave behind some sparkling glitter but not enough to be a problem. The slit is not over revealing. I love everything about this dress!

Wore this to a wedding . I could have gotten away with the 14 petite but I went for the 16 and there were no bulges. It was comfortable , elegant , and not cheaply made. And I’m a snob ! I got many many compliments on it . I’m 5’2 and big chested and a fat belly . And I didn’t feel ugly . Would recommend

This dress is flattering and beautiful. I deducted a star because 1 of the large beads had already fallen off inside the packaging, and 1 of the medium size beads was dangling. I had to re-attach them and secure several beads. That was a bit disappointing. But overall it’s a stunning dress!

I bought this but was reluctant due to the reviews commenting on all the glitter fall-out. The dress fit very well (I'm 5'8" 145 lbs pear shaped) with one minor alteration under my arms. It was comfortable (I wore it for 8 hours). The glitter wasn't much of an issue except for the car seat. It came off with a good sticky lint roller.
