I have sharpened knives by hand for almost 40 years...I have never made anything as sharp as these came in the box. I've used the butchering blade more than the others. I used the steel rod just a few "licks" after about 5 or 6 meals and it was right back to razor sharp....be careful,, I know that a standard test of sharpness is to try to shave arm hair....these will cut you.. As far as the Damascus....not sure...dont care.... they are good looking and sharp, and the edges are staying sharp longer than my old Kitchen aid set. ... show more

I have been waiting to provide my review on these for a couple of months now. A few people have complained that they rust when introduced to water. As soon as I removed them from the packaging I knew that those review were false. I have had High carbon steal knives in the past and these looked no different in fact they were better. I cant attest to the Damascus lines on them as if they a true or not but they are still there just as I purchased them. When I wash my dishes, the knives go in with them and I draw only hot water and let every thing soak for about an hour until the water cools down. No Rust! And they are Dangerously sharp! and with the included steal stay that way. The best thing they cost only a few dollars more than the J.A. Henkle Twin Four Star that I laid to rest after a Decade of use. ... show more

The only downside is you can scratch the designs while sharpening if youโ€™re not careful. Definitely user error on my part but theyโ€™re great and super sharp.

These are my first set of 'real big girl' knives. I just love them! However, as stated, I have cut myself a couple of times. They are so sharp I didn't know until I saw blood! Respect the knives. They are great!

These knifes are great. We have ceramic knives that we love and wanted to find other knives that work just as good. These knives are definitely just as sharp as the ceramic ones if not more!!
