This is my 3rd time buying hair dye shampoo. I generally like these better than box dyes for gray coverage. With the other 2 brands, the shampoo consistency was creamier and thicker. It was easier to apply because of it. The shampoo of this brand is very running. It almost looks like beaten eggs once you mix it up. Because it is so running, I really advice covering up your bathroom counter and floor when applying this. I ended up having to spot clean a few areas after using this dye and some areas are forever stained. As to smell, it doesn't smell bad. In fact the smell, while slightly floral, isn't very strong to me. It also seems to be very gentle on the hair, leaving it soft and silky. The color is fine. It covers up the gray very nicely which is what I wanted it to do the most. Overall good just be sure to protect your floor and counter. ... show more

The color coming out of the bottle was underwhelming. I wrongly assumed that it wasn’t going to dye my hair jet black like I was looking for. I am going prematurely, gray (most likely not prematurely because I’m near 50) and wanted to cover the gray hair in my crown area. I avoid using a permanent hair dye because I have microlocs. This has excellent coverage but it does stain walls and floors if you’re not careful.
