I love this hive tool, mostly due to the heavy duty J hook that makes picking up a frame so much easier for my small hands. I use the J hook to pick up one ear and then usually can pick up the other side with my hand. It's very sturdy and well made. I got this one as a spare, my original is still going strong after 5 years. It fits comfortably in my small hand and I appreciate the weight as it doesn't bend while using it.

the straight end was not sharp.Had to file it down.But over all a good hive tool.It lifts the frames ok.

This is my families favorite hive tool. We each have one plus I've had to buy more for friends and family and as extras to keep around when one gets lost. This hive tool does everything I used to have to carry around multiple different hive tools to accomplish. Now I get everything I need in one tool. Very sturdy. None of these tools have ever broken, bent or chipped. My husband has sharpened the 'scraper' and for me to double as a knife and the metal holds the sharp edge all season long. My husband has also lasered our names into the tools with no issues. Even after lasering, no rust or chipping. I clean my tools with a torch between visits and the heat has had no negative effect. I have no complaints!

We were in need of a new hive tool as our first one disappeared. I like so much about this tool. The "thumb" that sticks out is for prying frames out of the box, the flat part scrapes off unwanted comb or dead bees, while the rounded part can be used to scrape, pry, or anything else needed in the hive. It's even good at removing stingers from your hand. Oh and one more use for this wonderful tool. It's good at removing baseboard so you can install new flooring.
