The metal pieces feel sturdy, but the paint may scratch easily. The wood pieces have a faux-wood laminate cover that has a nice appearance, but also may scratch easily as a couple of the corners came with a very small amount of peeling, but it will not be noticeable from afar. It is possible for 1 person to put this together, but would be easier and much quicker for 2 people. The price is right.

The package weighed 84 pounds when it arrived. There were numerous pieces but the directions were clear and easy to follow. The description says you don't need a box springs and that is accurate. There are 10 to 12 support bars with a wide support bar in the middle. I'm really happy with the quality and price! I ❤ my new bed!!
