  • Comfortable
My nephews love them

  • Actually provides support throughout the entire night and excellent quality for the price
We have purchased several other “bed in box” mattresses now, and there are pros and cons to all of them. They all have been relatively comfortable and hold up well, but there are some key differences between just foam, hybrid, and actual traditional mattresses that haven’t been compressed or can’t be, for that matter. Straight foam mattresses are extremely comfortable, quiet, and don’t transfer movement like ones with springs do. The downside being lack of rigidity and support throughout the night. Even the ones that were thousands, you continually sink into them as the night goes on. If you try to move into a new sleep position, it is like trying to climb out of a hole that you just keep falling back into. They also sleep hot; some are better than others, but even “cooling” foam ones, it’s just science and unavoidable. The hybrids strike a nice balance, providing some of the same upfront softness, but the support throughout the night, the downside being your classic spring squeak, which might not show up right away, but always does, and they transfer movement more than the other two. The springs aren’t individually pocketed like traditional mattresses can be either, which helps with movement transfer and noise. While they lack the rigidity of traditional mattresses, they keep form much better than all foam ones do. My son had outgrown the mattress that was on his bed, which was only about a 5” thickness hybrid. When he would get out of bed, the edge would squish, and he kept hitting his legs on the sides of the bed. This mattress was a great opportunity to remedy that problem. Unpacking it, it rebounded quickly, and full loft was about 24 hours. The corners haven’t ever really come up to the same height as the rest of the mattress, but it is a fairly minimal amount. The fabric and stitching are very well done. It feels ample in thickness and durability. The tufting on the pillow top is very well done as well. One thing this mattress has that many of these “bed in a box” ones do not is handles. This is such a nice feature for moving it; you don’t use them often, but they are so nice to have when you do. For our intended use, this mattress provides the extra height we were looking for. The outside edges don’t seem to be much more reinforced than others we have had and seem to actually be softer than moving more towards the inside of the mattress. This is something that really is just impossible to avoid entirely in this price range and style of mattress. With the extra loft and thickness, it still doesn’t come close to compressing to the edge of the bed, however. The pillow top is very soft, and you settle into it comfortably, but you are then met by a nice firmness that really does an excellent job of providing support. After trying it out for a few slumber sessions myself, 6’6” about 240 lbs, I could feel some pressure from individual springs through the pillow top, still very comfortable, but noticeable. Now, I also normally sleep on an extra firm mattress that was roughly the same price as forty of these, so there are few mattresses I can’t find something to complain about, and really that was my only issue. As a large adult, I wouldn’t want this for a nightly mattress, but also wouldn’t complain about an occasional night on it. My son, however, all 68 lbs of him, finds it extremely comfortable and likes it much more than his previous mattress. My wife, 5’10”, 130ish, also finds it to be extremely comfortable, though she said it is springier than she likes. If you intend to get a mattress for a younger child that is still a jumper, the best bet is an all foam mattress. Not only will they be less likely to jump on it as much because it doesn’t have as much rebound, but the springs in a hybrid simply won’t hold up to that abuse. I feel as though this mattress is going to be best suited for big kids, about 8ish and up, college students, and smaller adults and should easily provide a few to several years of great life with nightly use. Also, it is an excellent option for a guest bed and likely will never have to be replaced, unless Uncle Eddie comes to visit. For a mattress in this price range, this one is truly excellent and much better than others I have purchased in this price range in the past. Just take some time to decide what features really meet your situation, needs, and wants, because these mattresses are honestly just as diverse as people’s preferences. ... show more

  • Comfortable twin mattress with a couple small tradeoffs
This ended up being a good fit for the spare room where my nephew sleeps when he stays over. I set it up on a basic twin frame and let it sit most of the day before putting sheets on it. It opened up pretty evenly and was usable that night, though I still gave it some extra time before judging it. The feel is a true medium firm to me. The top has enough memory foam softness that it does not feel like you are lying right on springs, but it still has support under it. I tried it for a while on my back and side, and my hips and shoulders did not sink in too much. The pocket springs give it a little bounce, so it is not as dead feeling as an all foam mattress. It also sleeps cooler than the thicker foam mattress I had in that room before. Not cold or anything, just less heat buildup. There was a faint new mattress smell at first, so I left the room window cracked for a day. It was not strong, but worth knowing if you are sensitive to smells. The edges are okay, but softer than the center if you sit right on the side. For a kid, teen, guest room, or smaller adult, I think it is a strong value. I would not pick it as my main nightly mattress as a heavier adult, but for its use here, it deserves 4 stars. ... show more

  • Incredibly comfortable mattress
I love this mattress! It is incredibly comfortable and has a great balance of support and softness. I like that it is a hybrid and combines memory foam with pocket coils. It gives the mattress a supportive feel without being overly firm or uncomfortable. The medium plush feel is perfect for my son. It has enough cushioning to feel cozy while still providing support for him. I've been impressed with the overall quality and comfort. It feels well made, comfortable, and supportive. We moved shortly after getting this and it was nice to have straps on the sides of the mattress. It made it so much easier to move. Overall, this is a great mattress. It's extremely comfortable and supportive without being too firm. ... show more

  • Love this hybrid mattress
Twin Mattress 10 Inch, Twin Size Hybrid Mattress in a Box, Medium Firm Cooling Memory Foam Bed Mattresses with Individual Pocket Springs, Breathable, FіbеrgӀаss-Frее, CertiPUR-US, 75" x 39" We all needed a new mattress, and this hybrid mattress is great. It doesn’t transfer movement so heavily so after I’ve fallen asleep with my little and have to wake up to get back to my bed, I can do it without disturbing them. It took a solid 24 hours for it to fully fluff out. The edges still sit lower than the rest of the mattress and kind of sink down when I go to get out of the bed. For both my little and I who are smaller people, this hybrid mattress provides an excellent nights sleep. It does keep us cooler than their old mattress did. It’s much more firm than the old mattress, but is still soft enough that we don’t wake up with any complaints. Even after months of being jumped and played on it hasn’t lost its shape at all. We don’t feel the springs either, which was a major issue with the older mattress. It’s on the cheaper side of mattresses, as far as price goes, but it provides a great nights sleep, so no complaints. ... show more

  • Very nice bed
Perfect upgrade for my kiddo! We got the twin size, and my kid absolutely loves his new mattress. It was easy to set up, expanded nicely, and was ready to use after airing out. It's supportive while still being comfortable, and he's been sleeping great on it. The quality feels excellent for the price, and it's a huge improvement over his old mattress. Very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it for a child's room. ... show more

  • 10 Inch Twin Size Hybrid Mattress in a Box with Great Support and Other Great Features
I am so happy that I ordered this 10" hybrid twin size mattress in a box that offers great support and soft, soothing memory foam gel, with full body comfort. The features listed for this twin size mattress include that it provides good stability, enhanced support zones for pressure relief and that it has layers that help with heat dissipation for moisture wicking and cooling. I agree with all of these statements. The heavy-duty coils and the reinforced edge support help to maintain the overall shape and stability of this mattress. Get a soft, skin-friendly feel when you lay against the breathable, medium plush feel of the fabric. The plush pressure relief foam in the center layers gives you the reduced pressure that you want when resting or sleeping. Rest easy knowing that you have a mattress that is made of safe materials. CertiPUR-US explains that the CertiPUR-US certified foam means that the foam has been tested for and has met the standards to be declared formaldehyde free, made without heavy metals, and made without ozone depleters, among other things. Get a good night's sleep every night, knowing that this mattress meets these standards. I know I do. I highly recommend this twin size mattress as a good value for the money. ... show more

  • Great balance of support and cushioning
If you need a solid mattress that offers real support without feeling rock hard, this is an awesome choice. The hybrid design works incredibly well. It combines individual pocket springs with layers of memory foam, which gives you the perfect medium-firm feel. The springs do a solid job of relieving pressure points on your shoulders and hips, while the foam layers add a nice, cozy layer of cushioning on top. It also handles motion isolation perfectly, so it stays nice and quiet if they roll around at night. Setting it up out of the box was pretty painless since it comes compressed as a mattress in a box. It expanded quickly and feels very durable and well-made. Another huge plus is that it is breathable and fiberglass free, so you can have peace of mind about safety and comfort. It is a great, high-quality mattress that delivers a perfect night's sleep. ... show more
