Best mattress I’ve owned in years! I thought I went into a coma the first night! It feels like a hard mattress when you first lay on it, but after a few seconds you sink right in. After about six years on a Purple mattress that was really starting to show its age, with uneven spots and some separation happening in the middle, my partner and I knew it was time for an upgrade. His lower back pain had been flaring up more often from long hours at a desk, and I'd been getting way too warm at night (he runs hot, so between the two of us our old setup was basically a human heat radiator situation). We've been sleeping on this 12 inch Queen Kokoon for about two and a half weeks now, and honestly, it's been a noticeable shift in sleep quality for both of us. I tend to like a mattress I can sink into a bit, somewhere between cloud-plush and supportive, while my partner usually thinks he needs something firmer for his back. We went with the medium feel and it turned out to be exactly the balance we were looking for. It has that gentle body-hugging contour from the memory foam, but there's real support underneath, so nothing feels like it's collapsing or bottoming out. I was honestly surprised my partner's back pain eased up without needing a super firm mattress, and he's also tossing and turning way less through the night, which has been huge for both of our sleep. The cooling cover and gel-infused foam have made a real difference on the temperature front too. I'm not waking up overheated anymore, which was a nightly thing with our old mattress. Side sleeping is comfortable without my arm going numb, back sleeping feels well supported, and even stomach sleeping works, which I didn't really expect from a foam mattress. The 12 inch height feels substantial without being a pain to put sheets on, and it fit our Queen frame perfectly with no weird gaps around the edges. There's no detectable odor at this point either, aside from a very faint new-foam smell on day one that aired out quickly. It was really nice how to arrived vacuum-sealed in a box so we could easily move it to the bedroom and up several stairs (phew! It IS heavy though, so teamwork makes the dream work!) and it expanded pretty quickly once we unrolled it, but I gave it a full day or two to fully decompress before putting sheets on since we had the space to wait. Quick tip: if you can let it breathe for 24 to 48 hours before sleeping on it, it seems to settle into its true feel better. The build quality feels solid and well-made overall, with dense, substantial foam layers and clean stitching on the cover that make it feel like something built to last. It seems like it’s for great value for lasting a long time. I will say however that it might be even better with a mattress topper on top to make it a bit more customized but we’re not there yet, we’re gonna give it some time to see how it does just on its own for a while longer since so far so good! If you're dealing with back pain, overheating, or an aging mattress that's just not cutting it anymore, this one is genuinely worth considering. We're both sleeping better, waking up more rested, and I'd absolutely recommend it.

Buying a mattress-in-a-box is always a bit of a gamble, but this one is a solid "best bang for the buck" move. It expanded to the full 12 inches within a day and didn't have that overwhelming "chemical spill" smell that usually comes with cheap foam. Firmness & Comfort: It hits that true medium sweet spot. It’s firm enough that you aren't sinking into a hole, but it has enough give to kill the pressure points on your shoulders and hips. If you’re a side or back sleeper, the sleep quality improvement is immediate. Quality & Noise Level: Since it’s all foam, it is dead silent. No squeaky springs or frame groans when you move. The motion isolation is also top-tier; you can roll around without the person on the other side of the bed feeling like they’re on a boat in a storm. The Fiberglass Factor: The biggest selling point here is that it is fiberglass-free. A lot of these foam beds use a hidden fiberglass sleeve as a fire retardant, and if that cover ever zips off or wears thin, it ruins everything in your house. This one uses a safer barrier, which is a massive relief for long-term durability and peace of mind. Heat Management: Most memory foam beds sleep hot, but the gel and graphene layers actually do the job. It doesn't feel like it’s trapping your body heat and turning into a furnace halfway through the night. It’s a no-nonsense, high-quality bed that does exactly what it claims to do.

Full disclosure - We also have the LifeBalance 10" Firm Hybrid mattress. It replaced an older one that had simply ran out of runway for turning. Due to its condition, I was waking up with a sore lower back each morning. The LifeBalance 10" Firm immediately remedied my back issues and although marketed as 'Firm', it's not hotel mattress hard. I found that I really liked the support. My wife was pleased overall with the construction but never fell in love with the firmness. She simply preferred the medium support of our old mattress when it was new. To that end, I ordered the LifeBalance 12" Medium, Memory Foam mattress as its specs were the closest to our previous mattress. This model has the same great benefits and features of our 10" - US sourced foam, OEKO-TEX certified fabrics, and is manufactured in the USA at an excellent price point. We moved the 10" LifeBalance to our guest bedroom and tried out this 12" Medium. To my surprise, we found that it's the perfect compromise between both our preferences. She loves the switch from firm back to medium and I love the cooling of the memory foam as I tend to get hot during the night. No back issues either, so it's a win for me. Also, same as the 10" Life Balance, this mattress comes compressed in plastic wrap, rolled up, and boxed. I'm easily amused, so I enjoyed using the included cutting tool to remove the plastic and watch a mattress begin to take shape immediately. Just give it at least 24 hours as instructed and it's ready to use. One final plus is that there's no weird chemical odor from questionable materials that needs to air out.
