Was looking to get more out of my Anker 737 battery pack and I also wanted to get more out of my EOS 5D Mkiv and this little gadget worked. I’m accustomed to the feel of my cameras with a battery grip, so it was important for me to retain that feature with a dummy battery. The Canon battery grip has a tiny opening covered by a rubber cap for the purpose of running a cable to the outside of the battery grip compartment. The dummy battery was not accepted into the single battery only slot, but worked from slot 2. This powered my camera right up and did some test shots in large scale jpeg and RAW writing to two an SD and CF card simultaneously. I had no issues doing this as well as 4k vid @ 60 fps. While I have about 6 Canon LP-E6n batteries for my two camera bodies, this gave me an another use for my battery pack for extended shooting if I ever need it. Very happy with this purchase. For the low cost of the item, it gave me a power alternative and more justification for my somewhat higher-end battery pack. ... show more

This adapter does not work with my canon SLRs (any 5D series). I connected this to my 150W power bank which can easily do 3A at up to 50V. The shutter mechanism was grinding something fierce. I thought my camera broke but I only released the shutter twice. Went back to my normal battery, camera returns to normal function. This again is an example of a chinese product being made to only work for a few days and not even work well. It has a tiny buck converter inside, not even properly rated for the intended load. The capacitors used are off-brand. They are under-rated and will last a month if you are lucky. The switcher is a chinese knockoff brand, design stolen from US but made cheap. The electronics get very hot during operation and they only hope you don't use it continuously. If operated near rated conditions, it will overheat, damage itself and your several-thousand-dollar camera. DO NOT USE. You have been warned. ... show more

The power cord connection wiring for my BMPCC 4k broke during normal use. I contemplated spending the money to get it fixed but then realized this was a cheaper and efficient option. It fits perfectly and allows me to still use the camera. The coiled bungee type cord is a design that to gives you the length you need and still be a uncluttered. Tested on Canon 6d and 60d. It does work with a Momax 20W mains to USB-C adaptor that can output 2.22A @ 9V. The product description does state Output: 8.4V, 2A needed but it's not obvious. I did try a 20,000mAh power bank and a 5V 3.5A multiboard with USB and both those failed to power up the camera. 4 stars because it works with a mains USB adaptor. 1 star off because I needed to run my camera from remote locations off a portable power bank. I'll have to investigate higher Wattage PBs. ... show more

Perfect. Exactly what I needed. My 5D mkiv is not used on battery often lately and I was tired of wasting problems. Fit perfect. Battery door closes just fine. It was cheap. And I’m happy people are finally adopting usb c more commonly. No issues with powering the camera for video use.

I am happy that I have found a good alternative for long time-lapses and astrophotography using the Canon R7. It works perfectly with a fast-charging USB-C PD power bank, providing ~8.2V needed by the camera. It has a voltage stabilizer inside, thus it's not a "dummy" battery.
