I have been amazed that the Kindle Scribe has become my primary ereader - it is thin and light, easy to hold, and the screen is positively magnificent! As a reader I would give it five stars - my current version Paperwhite is now sitting in my drawer. However, one of the key features is note-taking … and in that regard it seriously lags the competition. Single layer, single pen type, single level folder structure, almost no use of pressure sensitivity, and so on - all of these things have been around in competitive devices. I know there was an announced “we’re bringing these to the Scribe” post, but that was just before Christmas with no follow-up, leading me to see it as a sales pitch rather than technical roadmap. As a note-taking device I’d rate it as 3 stars. So between the two I came with an overall 4 star rating - solid in many ways but lagging in others. Hopefully it will be updated soon. ... show more

I have a paperwhite and I love reading on it so I was really excited to get the Scribe because of the writing function. It's been a learning experience as I still try to get use to writing in it. I purchased a pdf planner and notebooks on Etsy and it helps. But I find that I mostly use it to read, and I will say that I really enjoy reading books on my Scribe. ... show more

The kindle is great. I love it. I like to read with it and I like to write. It’s perfect for reading and it’s great for writing. The read write space is about the size of a hard cover book. I am also all in with kindle so I prefer the new version compared to the remarkable where my kindle books wouldn’t work. If you are primarily writing and don’t read, this might not be for you. For the value, the scribe is wonderful. As for the audio such as audible, I don’t do it so no comments. ... show more

It has gotten me away from taking paper notes for the most part. However, it is clunky and the software is the biggest negative. Filing notebooks is not optimal, it takes too many clicks to go back and forth between notebooks and integration with other programs is not there. I love to write notes as I read and this has been a great tool for me to learn and to read. I also use it to write and if things continue to go like they are currently, I may forfeit my paper notebooks and use it exclusively for journaling. Being left-handed, many standard writing tools can react to the pressure of my hand across the text, but this has not yet been a problem for me. Notebook creation is a bit awkward and I find myself moving the tools button from left to right and back again. It would be nice to have more mobile tools. I am happy with the battery life and then storage space is reasonable for my page images. Having a USB charging port is a big help too. ... show more

I find the screen size and lighting make it easier for me to read. I like the note scribbling ability and hope they will add scribble to text to make the result more readable. I’m very happy with this product and recommend it to everyone and especially those with visual reading challenges because of the better screen. ... show more
