Bought this unit cause I was tired of bulky Dremal type rotary units. And I don't like the way the flex shafts does with alot if them. Thought I try this one and have to say so fsr I am pleased with it. Yes I still have a stiff shaft to deal with but it isn't as bad as Dremals is. And I like to full range of speed tis unit gives. Perfect low speed for hogging out material but yet high speed perfect for sanding and polished finish. Go ahead though and order additional accessories as the ones that come with it are basic entry level stuff. This carves bone and antler with ease and gives me a mirrored polish on my metal jewelry. This thing is worth the price; Good feel in the hands/ fingers, can’t find many cordless rotaries w this kind of cordless design , it’s 4-5star rating , I love the design and feel. I have a foredom SR pro detailer w foot pedal control ; that thing is amazing , it’s what the professionals use and the populo w the bigger battery does pretty well , I like the portability of it . I've used it with several bits, for most things it hums right along. When pressure is applied, it will bog down a little, and I may get the add-on foot pedal to make speed adjustment easier. The battery has been holding a charge well. I added a smaller collet for finer bits, it fits with one from dremel. (old hardware store, old stock). I like that I can move between my workspaces with it, especially that I can set up outside for dusty things. ... show more

Been using this bad boy about 10 hours a week for 3 months. Still puts out the power and haven't noticed my battery weakening as many cheapo batteries do after several drains and charges. Overall well worth the money

    • Don't make the mistake I made. They don't do returns.

Unfortunately I tend to notice that a product doesn't offer returns, AFTER I bought it and go to return it. This product cannot be returned. More than that, they want you to contact the manufacturer, except the manufacturer doesn't respond to emails, messages, or any form of communication really. You go to the website, fill out a contact form on the website(leaving you with no ability to know when it was sent, or if it was even accepted), and then wait like I did for no response. The product itself seems alright, it's just that my copy of it seemed to have already been used. It had dirt on certain spots. It's weird for a product to have been used before, and yet the manufacturer doesn't accept returns. If it wasn't used before, than these guys dirty up their own products before it's been boxed. In addition, the flex shaft has no grease, lube or anything on it. It's dry, spinning around in a tube that is also dry. Given the amount of heat these things can generate, you'd think there'd be some lube, but no dice. I also tried to contact the manufacturer to see if it actually needed grease added, but again, no response. I'd say the price is better than fair for a 20v rotary tool, battery, and charger, at $60. Unfortunately you're rolling the dice with this company, and for me it came up 'snake eyes'. I'd recommend it if Populo actually responded, and accepted the return. It's something I wanted to test to see what a 20v rotary tool is like, then I'd return it for now, but buy it again in the future after it passed my tests. Now I'll never buy another populo tool, regardless of the price. ... show more

Would HIGHLY recommend this! Easy setup, extremely powerful, and the pen grip is very nice and great quality. It’s very light and I would even recommend over using a Dremel. I will definitely be back to buy another soon! Also, very great price!

Bought this for power and portability for cutting and sanding metal in tight areas. My cordless dremels always bog down and aren't small enough. This is a big improvement, and cuts thinner metals when needed with both composite and metal discs. Also good for detail grinding n sanding, motor doesn't feel underpowered. If you need more power but a die grinder is overkill, this is a good step up. Recommended. ... show more
