  • Good quality
2 year old granddaughters love it. They are inspecting everything.

  • Fun toy microscope that works; just not the same as a conventional microscope
Overall this is a fun and education toy for young children. My sons have enjoyed playing with this, and as far as I know this is their first experience with any type of microscope. Don't expect this to be a proper microscope that you might find at schools and labs. But for purposes of experimenting while at home, this is perfectly fine. The instructions are clear enough, and the functions and buttons are simple to use. I am glad this has the ability to change the brightness of the display, since some objects you magnify are not as translucent as others. The set comes with a decent amount of items to look at, and you can always choose other items around the house or yard to put under this microscope. Wish I could give this 5 stars, but I'd recommend sticking with a traditional microscope if your goal is to give kids a real experience with a microscope. ... show more

  • Fun but not super powerful
This microscope has been a bit underwhelming from an adults perspective, but my kids love it. I was expecting a higher magnifying power based on the description, but it’s closer to a magnifying glass. With that said, the kids use it to look at grass and leaves this summer and definitely get a kick out of it. It’s easy for them to use, seems to be educational and the report that the items are in focus. The size is great for the items they look at with the microscope ... show more

  • Big Fun around Our Tiny World
Okay, if you're looking for something that will seriously capture your kids' attention and spark some awesome imaginative play, you absolutely have to get one of these kids' video microscopes. My sons are completely obsessed with it, and honestly, so am I! They absolutely love just running around the house, sticking it up to all sorts of textures – blankets, carpet, their own skin (gross, but fascinating!). It's amazing to see how excited they get when they see something ordinary blown up on the screen. They've totally run with it and started incorporating it into their games. It's become a key piece of their "police lab," where they're "analyzing" evidence from their latest "case." Or it's a tool for "exploring alien planets" in our living room. It's fantastic to see how much imagination it inspires. This isn't just a toy; it's a genuine learning tool that opens up a whole new world of detail for them, and it's durable enough for actual kid-play. Seriously, if you want something that'll get them off screens (the other kind, anyway!) and genuinely engaged, this is it. Five stars all the way! ... show more

  • Pretty good
I would have given this 5 stars but honestly it’s hard to get it to focus on stuff. It does work well when you can get it focused but it’s tricky. Not great for really young kids but good for older elementary schoolers.

  • Such a Cool Activity For Kids!
I got this for my 7 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. It is super easy and fun to use. It comes with a memory card so that you can take photos and videos of what you are observing through the microscope. My daughter has been examining and documenting everything that she can find. This thing is awesome and well worth the money! ... show more

  • Not sure of 1000x but its definitely powerful and fun
Its pretty feature rich for a kids toy and very interesting to see things with such magnification while carrying it around. Im not sure of the math behind the claimed 1000x magnification and a little skeptical but it does have powerful magnification for sure once the resolution is set to its highest value. Great toy for kids to carry around and explore with. Overall, great product... ... show more

  • More like a magnifying glass
The photo and video features are cool, if your kid was to make grainy movies starring bugs. However, the magnification limitations means this doesn't show you anything you can't already clearly see.
