I was a little concerned that I wouldn't be able to put it together alone, especially when I thought I'd have to scan a QR code and try to follow the directions in a YouTube video. But the included instructions were actually very easy to follow and it took me maybe an hour-I'm 63 and bought this for my grandson. Excellent value for what you get. Your kid isn’t going to use this bike for 5 years so it needs to be cheap which is what this is. No complaints after 6 months. Looks like an expensive bike.

All of the parts were accounted for and in excellent condition. The bike comes semi-assembled, you pretty much just have to attach the wheels, seat, handle bar, pedals, & the optional add-ons. Thankfully, the bike chain is already attached and ready to use out of the box. It comes with the a tire pump, required assembly tools & instructions. The picture instructions are admittedly poor, BUT, there is a QR code within the instructions that takes you to an easy to follow video assembly guide! I practically have no mechanical skills and I followed along with the guide just fine. The toughest part of the assembly, was inserting the handlebars into the frame. I made the mistake of loosening one of the parts too much (you have to loosen it first before inserting into the frame), which made a couple of pieces fall off the handle bar that was kind of tough to put back together. I also had to adjust the brakes a bit. Other than that, it was a manageable enough. As for the bike quality, I'm completely satisfied with it. It is heavy bike, especially when factoring in that its a bike intended for 4-8 year olds. The wheels freely spin, the brakes function exactly as they should, and the handlebars easily turn. I love that the chain has a guard around it, which will help prevent loose clothing or shoestrings interfering with the chains while being ridden. I ordered pink and it looks just like the bike's color featured on the product page. It's painted consistently. I have one small complaint. In order to attach the water bottle holder beneath/behind the seat, you have to have the seat up in a fairly high position in order to attach it, otherwise the seat itself will prevent it from being attached due to lack of space (hence why it is missing in my photos). That's a minor issue in the grand scheme so I don't feel the need to take a star off. Overall though, I highly recommend it. My niece will be able to start learning to ride in a couple of years, so she is going to love this bike! ... show more

The first thing I noticed is how stable it feels with the training wheels. My kid is just starting out, so that extra balance makes a huge difference. He can focus on pedaling and steering instead of worrying about falling every two seconds. I also like that it comes in different sizes (12–18 inch), because you can actually match it to your child’s height. That matters more than people think because having the right size helps kids feel comfortable and in control while riding. The dual brake system is a big plus too. It has both a hand brake and a coaster brake, so my son can learn both ways of stopping. That setup is pretty common for beginner bikes and helps them transition as they grow. I also noticed the adjustable seat and handlebars, which is clutch because kids grow fast. You can raise it as they get taller instead of replacing the bike right away. Now I will say, assembly takes a little time (nothing crazy, just something to expect). And like most beginner bikes, it’s built more for learning and casual riding, not rough terrain or tricks. ... show more

This is a good first bike for a little one learning how to ride. It honestly feels better thought out than a lot of the big box store bikes that seem to spend half the budget on licensed cartoon stuff instead of putting it into the actual bike. The listing does show the useful stuff you’d want on a starter bike too, like training wheels, adjustable seat and wider handlebar, plus both hand and coaster brakes. I got this for my 6 year old after getting rid of a certain spider themed bike, and this was the better move. Assembly was kind of a pain at first, but once it’s together and adjusted right, it’s really not bad. I like that you can actually fine tune things as your kid gets more comfortable riding. Build quality seems pretty decent for this type of bike, and it feels like more thought went into the parts than just making it flashy.
