Anyone else notice the price of coffee getting higher and the coffee bags getting smaller? I discovered Three Sisters at the grocery store during a coffee sale. It was a pleasant step up from the bulk bin and when discounted offered good value. Likewise I caught a good sale of this on Amazon and picked up a 2.2lb bag to tide me over. This is a "medium to dark" roast with a slight astringency and low acid. It's slightly sweet, smooth and had a round medium body when brewed properly. It doesn't linger and it's not exceptionally fragrant. I lean toward dark espresso roasts but need a change up once in a while. This makes a very good but not great cup of coffee and is usually reliable from bag to bag, retailer to retailer in my experience. At a premium price point there are better options when you have the time to hunt them down. But this is very good to have on hand for every day especially if fresh and on sale. ... show more

As someone who considers himself a horse manure connoisseur I was very pleased when I opened this bag of coffee, stuck my face into the bag, and inhaled deeply. The earthy, musty scent of horse manure is very forward and unmistakable. This was such an amazing surprise, I became almost giddy. I could not wait to grind and brew a cup in my Chemex coffee pot. And I have to say this coffee does not disappoint! It tastes exactly like it smells and exudes all of the flavor notes one expects when one ingests manure. The only downside I can find is that it does not have the flavor of a fresh manure but more that of a manure that has sat in a pile for several months to a year. But considering I have never had another coffee that tastes so much like manure I don't know that this can really be counted against it. Perhaps stale manure is the only manure flavor that can be imparted to coffee. Either way, I am a huge fan and this will be my go-to blend for life! If you are as much of a horse manure fan as I am then please do not hesitate and get yourself a bag of this wonderful coffee today. ... show more

I’m not a coffee expert by any means but I know a good cup of coffee when I drink one. This coffee never disappoints. In fact, I’m sipping on a cup as I type this review. This is my new daily coffee and I couldn’t be happier. Will be buying more as needed.

Based on the average review ranking of 4.5, we ordered this coffee. It was found to be dull with no flavor notes nor any taste depth whatsoever. The only attribute going for it was exceptional smoothness. If you like gas station coffee, you can rest assured this is indeed the "best" gas station coffee out there. We can purchase significantly better coffee beans at our local Seattle-based National chain and saved more than 30% at the same time. This coffee is the epitome of poor value and taste. I'm not a connoisseur of coffee and I don't know how to describe the flavors, but I like my coffee to taste like coffee smells and I can't stand coffee that tastes burnt. This was lovely and rivaled my favorite local coffee shop. I can highly recommend it.
