Bought these for our '86 Vanagon. There's not a lot of space in the door panel to locate speakers, and the stock 4" ones sounded terrible. One problem is trying to find speaker grilles that are thin enough to not interfere with the window crank handle, and, don't rub on the dash end with the door shut. These work great! Running a quality 50 watt per channel amp, deck, and a nice powered subwoofer (installed under the passenger seat, and for about $800 installed this system sounds really great and didn't break the bank! ... show more

My 1995 Cherokee XJ had OEM speakers in the doors, and they had the horrible sound to prove it. These speakers work very well by comparison, and they can support a good amount off bass as-is. If you are looking to update a worn-out sound system, then I think this should work well for you. However, I am not confident that you will enjoy the sound from these speakers if you are a real audio snob, or if you want something with a big amp that is intended to be very loud. ... show more
