Based on other reviews I was careful to examine all the parts. I put it together and installed it on the wall and loaded it up with lumber. I have a lot of heavy lumber, so I made sure I didn't overload any individual shelf...Yes, I weighed some of the heavier Paduk pieces, and each shelf is holding between 75-95lbs of wood. It is level, easy to get at and has been hanging successfully on the wall for over a week! I do agree that you should toss the wall screws that come with it and use better ones. I used self drilling 1/4" x 3" Flat lags and it worked great. If I had room, I would buy another, but space is tight! ... show more

    • Easy to install, very solid and nice looking lumber rack.
Today I bolted my racks to the metal frame of my 12x30ft metal building. It is rated for 100 pounds per tier, 6 tiers total. I pulled my 200lb self off the floor using just a single arm, so, 400% of rated weight? It was no problem. I appreciate the heavy weight of the steel it is made from, and the powder coat appears able to take a lot of abuse without showing it. I'm very pleased with my purchase. You'll want 3" bolts, 6 min, to mount the rack. I used 3" self-tapping hex-head bolts, into 12g steel. Pre-drilled for 6, I added 1 more each side. I think the side of my building will cave in before the rack gets torn off at this point. If you need to get long stuff off the shop floor, don't hesitate. ... show more

    • They work, but are flimsy
These function reasonably well, but are about as cheaply made as could be and still function. It's a powder coated rectangular tube onto which you have to screw about 5 sheet metal screws to hold the orange bars. The lumber holding bars are the same material with a hole that slides down the vertical tube onto the screw head. Flimsy. Holds the lumber in a type of cantilever manner... wobbly. Ultimately, it is a cheaply made and basically product for a fairly cheap price. ... show more

Shelves are a bit close but in the instructions they state you can drill new holes to move the location of shelf. I left one shelf off and drilled new hole between bottom and 3rd shelf from bottom to make the two bottom shelves farther apart. Worked great and allowed for more wood in same space. I am glad I did this from the start. Item seems to be very secure. I purchased two sets and have them covering a 16' span and it supports the wood very well. ... show more

    • Good rack, Be prepared to go get bolts
Attachment hardware is not included, and I am a bit picky for anything that holds a heavy load over my car, so be ready to go get some 3-4 inch 1/4 size lag bolts. Get steal, not zinc and I broke 2 zinc bolts off with minimal tightening. The rack itself is great. Does exactly what it is supposed to as long as you do not overload it. ... show more
