It allows you to adjust the angle of the headboard when putting together. Might be a bit difficult to change after the whole thing is together. Took me about 2 1/2 hrs by myself. This bed looks great and feels sturdy. The headboard is comfortable, and it fits a 12" mattress with a topper perfectly. The quality seems good overall. A few things to note: the information does not show the height from the floor to where the mattress sits, which is 9 inches. Also, the long side rails are made of two pieces with a center support post. The instructions show it, but it lines up right where you step in and out of bed, and it’s definitely a toe stubber. Assembly took me about 3 hours by myself, mostly allen wrench style screws, with a few interruptions from my dogs. Overall, it’s a nice bed, just be mindful of the support post placement and the overall height. ... show more

Just look at that !! Delivered on time. All pieces included..plus a couple extra, just in case. Solid, sturdy build after put together ...now that's what I'm talking about! The shipping costs a pretty penny but is offshot by the low price. Takes a bit to put together so devote a few hours to it. Don't be put off by having to piece it together. Perfect fit for mattress. It's definitely worthwhile! I've included a couple of pics... Oh, the app is completely worthless but other than that everything sparkles and shines. Don't care for that feature anyway.
