Top Amazon Reviews

  • No app and I'm fine with that. All the other ones with apps I had to return!
Well so far I have had the door handle installed for about 5 days now. I purchased a different one and it would not lock it had an app and as I look through Amazon it seems to me like every smart door knob or handle whatever that comes with an app is always this app the Tuya application. The app was horrible. First of all the problem I had was the fact you have to drill a hole in your door which I did not realize and I wish I would have looked around a lot more because there are so many more out there that you don't have to do any drilling whatsoever. Most people want apps but I'm telling you right now these apps do not work maybe if they are Wi-Fi as I've been searching through here I've seen ones that say Wi-Fi and they cost a lot of money! So most of the cheaper ones are via Bluetooth and I don't understand what is wrong with it because any other thing a $5 shower suction cup speaker connects to my phone but none of these smart locks seem to want to connect to my phone or when they do they don't work or don't help me at all. So I really am happy with the no app. I don't need an app especially not one that's never going to work and as I read through multiple reviews from multiple locks and door knobs door handles deadbolts whatever it's always the same issue is the Bluetooth connection or the app. So what does it really matter to have an app anyway you know? It's kind of just laziness and honestly like I said they don't work so it's just frustrating. I can understand if you're renting a home or you know out to people like a summer home and you constantly have people in and out renting the app might be nice but only if you live far away I guess and then I don't know from what I understand and the doorknob I bought for my bedroom I have to literally be standing right next to the door knob to connect it to Bluetooth and then it doesn't even do it anyway. So yeah I'm happy with this I got it on sale so I got it for the same price that I bought the other lock for that I went through two of them and now mind you I did buy it because it was only $49.99. I do not have a lot of money I read some of the reviews which there isn't very many a lot of them were really good and I'm talking about this other doorknob now which I shouldn't be but I'm just saying because I was so happy when I got this one and it actually just did what it was supposed to do. So it's the third one I went through to get what I needed. And now I just bought a cheap $25 fingerprint handle for my bedroom just so I can keep my kids out of my bedroom when I want and same issues I cannot connect it to Bluetooth and it took me forever to understand and finally figure out how to even set a fingerprint in it without the app. Not to mention it doesn't have a key or any other alternate ways of unlocking it besides a charger or port or whatever. Anyway this one so far has been great it's easy instructions you just do it on the lock itself. It tells you step by step and the instructions which is so nice because I swear with all these other ones they are so confusing. They call the same part different names and different sections so you're not sure what you're supposed to be doing you know what I mean. One minute it's called the rear door handle in the next it's called the setting handle and then in the next it's called something else and it's just like okay what is it right. Anyway this one was so simple to install too it was just like putting a regular door knob on so now I do have a big hole that it is covering up that I had to drill into my door for the other one which I am not happy about whatsoever. But like I said I've only had it for a few days but so far it has taken my fingerprint it has taken my daughter's fingerprint the code works I'm completely happy with it and I got it on sale 30% off so I only paid $50 for it which is what I spent on the other one so I couldn't be more pleased. I just wish I would have chose this one in the first place. And as I look through here and believe me I've looked at probably 300 locks now I wish I could use an app kind of I do it would be nice. I have a camera and it hooks up to my app I can be anywhere and log into my camera and see what's going on outside my house so I don't understand why it's so difficult to make a doorknob do the same thing like. Honestly that's what they tell you it does but it never does so I'm a little bummed it doesn't have an app but I'm afraid the app would just make me mad and not work anyway like I said so what do I really need the app for? I don't think I really do. The main reason I wanted this was security for one and also because I'm always carrying a million things and it's so nice to just put your hand on the door knob or handle I'm sorry and put your thumb on the reader and be able to open your door. Hopefully it continues to do that but even if it doesn't I can just touch the card to it and it will open. Unless all of that stuff's working I will come back and leave another update but if you don't need the app my suggestion is seriously by this one cuz it's great and there's no app and if you don't want this one take my advice and skip the app unless you really really need it. So for now yes I give it five stars oh also it came in one day I don't even think it was 24 hours and I had it already. So very fast delivery that was awesome! Not to mention I left this out I forgot I'm very happy that my door locks I literally went about a month and a half without my door locking left my house everyday and that is horrible! no it wasn't this item I'm just saying though you got to be really careful you get what you pay for definitely! It is the cheapest app related door handle with all these same features for $49.99 it was the cheapest one I found I cannot find another one that has all those options and the app for that price and that's the only reason I bought it honestly. And I believe that it was going to do what they told me it was going to do. So yes I really am happy with my purchase so far. But Amazon is pretty good at helping and getting your stuff to you returns and everything but I always purchase the extra insurance! That's another thing I would advise you to do because then that way after the 30 days I mean it's never been over $10 for a 4-year insurance plan and you can then have confidence that if it does start to act up which I've read in a lot of comments and reviews that they left a great review and then came back and said the lock stopped working after a few months or whatever so that's another thing I advise everyone to do is purchase that extra insurance through Amazon or whatever it is but it's better than you know getting stuck with a lock that you can do nothing with after a certain point of time. So once again no apps! And by the additional insurance! I hope somebody read all this and takes my advice and I hope this was helpful. So yes by this lock it's good for the price. And stay clear from them apps unless you run a b&b or whatever they're called r&b air and b I don't know but someplace like that where you constantly have people in and out and you need to change codes and you don't live close by cuz if you live close by just change it yourself go to the house and do it the app is not worth it but I do understand a lot of people live very far from places they rent and in that case you have to buy $15,250 lock and try to make sure that you may be pay for the app cuz then you might get it to actually do what it's supposed to do so that would be my advice if you have to have an app either pay for it or try to stay clear from the Tuya application! Oh also if you really need that I guess I would suggest getting a Wi-Fi one which I've noticed they are over $100 but there's probably a reason for that cuz you know you get what you pay for and obviously the Wi-Fi option and Bluetooth together is better or something I honestly don't know. I don't really know much about this and I'm older I don't know too much about computers and all this smart stuff besides the fact that I'm always saying I hate computers I was raised in the '90s I don't even use a gigabyte on my phone not even one whole gigabyte in a month. Nor do I I own a computer because they never work for me and I always get confused and they're always out of date or something so yeah I just want to be able to touch my door knob and open it that's cool as heck if you ask me! Especially if you got two kids and they don't help you carry crap into the house. The only thing that does kind of suck is every time my 7 year old goes outside the door locks behind her now and she has to bang on the door to get in and I have to let her in because I have not programmed her fingers yet I tried to last night but I had to be at work and we were leaving and I don't know her finger was too little or something she just wasn't doing it right but I was in a hurry and I said we'll do it later but it took my 12-year-olds right away and it took my fingerprint right away. So yes five stars for now! ... show more

  • Marvelous door lock!
This door lock is great! I liked the look and options of this so much that I ordered two! It looks nice and is extremely functional. Open with keypad, fingerprint, and included key cards or physical keys (x2). Installation was very easy, I did not have to alter my doors in any way. It was also very simple to swap the door handle side. I installed one on my home office door and one on a teenage boy's bedroom door. I set up the admin codes easily, then added other users. The instructions are extremely clear and I had no issues at all! I would definitely order again. ... show more
