Perfect consistency for wiry hair, or longer hair that needs to stay in place. Smells is nice, lightly citrusy. (Warning: Other thicker Kevin Murphy products such as Rough.Rider are not as pleasant smelling - more chemical musk and petroleum smells). Firm hold, low gloss. As a result of the firm hold, it also feels a bit crunchy - it is not a soft-hold product. Doesn't flake after drying and lasts all day. Does not melt into your face like American Crew with sweat or rain. If you apply water several hours later, the hold comes back about 80% of the way. Washes off hands very easily. After trying MANY different products, this is the best I've found for my hair. The next best thing would be Malin & Goetz, which is about 2x the price. ... show more

I love this hair cream when you want to slick back your hair. It smells amazing and a little goes a long way. I use a board bristle brush and dip it into the pot and then run it through my hair and slick it back that way. It normally will hold my hair all day. Good product for holding but if you have any water kn your hand it clumps up before applying even when rubbing your hands together. I wish they applied the scent from this to their other Free hold product and it had the consistency of that product as well

I have 4c hair. I used it to smooth my edges. Definitely has great hold, left no caste, dried matte, lasted all day. The second day the hold was diminished BUT still significant. No flaking. This product is good for shorter hair styles. It’s very strong though and will rip out your hair if you’re not careful. For the price I’d shop for something else. Don’t use if you have medium to long hair.

    • Best Hair Paste I've Used (Fine, Short Hair)
This paste is excellent - it allows you to shape your hair how you want it without leaving it looking like a hard plastic shell. I usually apply a dime-sized amount right after towel-drying my hair after a shower, and that gives me enough control to style it how I want and then be able to reshape throughout the day by simply running my hand through my hair. I started using this while trying to find an alternative to American Crew Fiber Pliable Molding Creme For Men 3 Ounces, which left my hair greasy and heavy at the end of the day. Night Rider eliminated that problem for me. Granted, it's more expensive than AC Fiber, but the quality is worth it in my opinion. I've used this paste for about two and a half years now, and I haven't found any other product that comes close to this level of control while also leaving my hair light and not shiny. The only negative I've experienced it that the paste can be a little difficult to wash off your hands, but that is a minor inconvenience at most. Great product that's worth the money! ... show more
