  • Wow... perfect for me!
I was a bit hesitant with Orange Crush, Vox Pathfinder, and Fender Rumble options being available for around the same price, but since I already have a Katana 110 and love it, I gave this one a shot. It's perfect for what I was looking for! As I travel weekly and sleep in a hotel 3 nights a week, I needed something small & portable that simply let me hear my bass guitar, and one that I wouldn't cry *too* much about if it got damaged or stolen. This absolutely fit the bill for me. To be fair, I'd probably be disappointed if I expected anything more than that though, as it's VERY SMALL. You can only expect so much out of it, and for me, (carrying it around every week while not wanting to wake up or annoy other hotel guests), it works perfect. Pros: - Takes "portability" to the extreme, where it's so small it will fit into an overnight bag or backpack, and it's so light I actually threw it by accident when taking out its batteries. (Oops! No damage though.) - Has a basic, clean sound that works for a bass guitar. I've seen videos where regular six-strings don't sound that bad either, but I didn't test it myself. - The built-in delay gives the sound far more depth than without it, and is a welcome feature. The EQ allows for some basic sound-shaping as well. - For its size, the sound is great, although not comparable to the others mentioned above at the same price point. It's not very loud, but it has a good, smooth tone that's full and not tinny or hollow-sounding. Cons: - The lack of an included power supply, and the recommended Roland power supply being an additional 40 bucks, is rather put-offish. The ability to run on batteries is nice I guess, but it's not very budget-friendly. At six or seven hours per battery load, that adds up when you're replacing six AA batteries at a time. - The Roland power supply is recommended by Boss, but it's not required. It's recommended because the power supply buzz in cheaper supplies tend to run very loud through the Mini, whereas the higher-quality Roland is much quieter. I happened to have an old Radio Shack adjustable voltage power supply in my parts box and it runs silently, so I dodged a 40 dollar bullet there. Others might not be so lucky. Realistically, this amp costs $140 with the power supply. But at that price point, unless absolute minimal size and weight is what you're after like I was, I can't see recommending it. For $140 you can get so much more amp out of the models mentioned above. However, this is the smallest and lightest amp that I know of that still sounds good, and that's its edge over the competition. ... show more

  • 9/10
This amp is amazing, I’ve been playing for some time now and getting this amp was just as important as getting the guitar itself, this amp is definitely worth it’s money. The jump in sound quality from my old amp to the new one was great. If your looking for an amp that isn’t too expensive ($200 and above) but has genuinely good quality, this amps for you ... show more

  • EXCELLENT buy!!
I play on half stack amps and needed something I could just jam on anywhere in the house....WOW, was I impressed with the "brown" setting with the gain all the way up...not kidding here, excellent metal sound.

  • CONVENIENT LIGHTWEIGHT SMALL AND GOOD SOUNDING GRAB-N-GO AMP
For its diminutive size, it sounds pretty decent. It serves the purpose well for a good sounding practice amp, that I can grab and run out the door with my guitar. If good means thunderous enough for a concert hall, then this probably isn't what you should be looking at. However, if you're looking for something lightweight, decent sounding and adequate for smaller settings then this amp will suffice. I like that I don't need a power supply, and it has the necessary 1/4" input for either a wireless device or cable. And, I can attach a BOSS power supply adaptor. ... show more
